Also, Mare and Ines were kind enough to feature me on their blog today:
There are only 6 seats left for the Chicago Writer's Conference panel discussion Writer's Night Out: Secrets of Self-Publishing. We'll cover book editing, book design, and book marketing for self-publishing authors, then Mare Swallow, Founder of the prestigious Chicago Writer's Conference, will moderate a Q&A discussion.
The event is tonight 7-9pm at Lill Street Loft, 4437 N Ravenswood Avenue -- the Montrose Brown Line Station is nearby and there is parking onsite. Admission includes wine and networking before the program begins. The event is nearly sold out so if you'd like to attend, register now!

I am a publishing consultant, writer, and editor based in downtown Chicago. I help authors get their books self-published by serving as a single point of contact throughout the book production process. I explain authors' publishing options, help them clarify their goals, assist them with finding excellent self-publishing service providers, and interact with the service providers on the authors' behalf.
I also provide original writing, ghostwriting, content editing, and copyediting for books, web content, marketing materials, and communications pieces.
I founded the Chicago Self-Publishing Meetup Group. Our members are aspiring authors, people who work in the publishing industry, and others who are simply curious about how to create a book. We meet in the downtown Chicago area every other month and offer our members free resources, presentations, guest speakers, and panel discussions.
I’m on the board of Chicago Women in Publishing (CWIP), a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and the American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and a contributor to the national magazine Preservation in Print.
I'm a preservation geek. Occasionally I’ll get up in front of a bunch of strangers and try to convince them to help save a historic building. Sometimes I have to explain that we should save one even if most people think it’s ugly.
My dream is to move to Rome and write about the ex-pat life. I'm still working on a strategy to get there.
