I've been getting a ridiculous amount of spam text messages lately - anyone know how to deal with this? Yes, I'm on the do-not-call list.

Are they by any chance going to a GV number, or to a carrier owned number?

Carrier owned. Does GV handle spam texts? That would be awesome...
Well, not automagically, but you can easily block numbers (text as well as voice), I use it quite a bit.

Hrm, that sounds tempting...however, I found GV sms service to be quite buggy and have high latency. Are those issues for you?
Can't say I've experienced those issues at all recently. I filter all (most) of my communications thought my GV number now, its just more agile. ;)

Create a contact with a silent ringer for all of your junk callers and texters. That way you don't have to deal with them 
I've been using the GV on T-Mobile and had success with it; the latency/buggy of the text messages seems to have gone away compared to...however long ago I last tried it.
