Upon hearing the news, I immediately began listening to Outkast's entire catalog on repeat. While listening I remembered why I fell in love with their music. "I don’t mind making sacrifices for in a relationship. That’s a part of partnership. But it’s imperative that my partner does the same. See me when I don’t see myself. Show up for me. Give me the reciprocity I’ve been searching for since I was 16."

“We must rapidly begin the shift from a "thing-oriented" society to a "person-oriented" society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. Releasing their first album in 1995, Goodie Mob became synonymous with southern storytelling. So often we want the man, the ring, and the wedding so badly, that we overlook past and present behavior and place all our hopes in a few carats and unsecured promises.
Season 1, episode 11 of Glee was entitled “Hairography.” Rapper Eve plays Grace Hitchens, the glee club director at Jane Adams Academy, an all-girl schools for troubled youth. Hitchens choir is competing against McKinley High in an upcoming showcase. My friends have diagnosed me with #KDS, Kia Delay Syndrome, because I’m usually the last one to “get it.” In that vein, I recently started watching Breaking Bad, AMC’s hit series about a chemistry teacher who begins producing methamphetamine in an effort to provide for his family after he receives a terminal cancer diagnosis.
