I am disabled in a wheelchair; I’m a paraplegic. This car replaces my feet.
My vehicle type is Sorrento Urban 2X4 engine capacity 2400 cc. the identification number is as follows:
e11*2001/116*0358-KNAKU811BC5314101- model year 2012.
This car aids me daily as I am a paraplegic that wheelchair mobility. I began driving this car on 17-6-2012.
During the first year and subsequent to it, noises began coming from transmission facilities and from the gear in the drive position P to D and for D to P or to R. Over time I have come several times over the years (3 year warranty), and everything is registered in the company’s system. Once the axial was replaced and at another time they reinforced them, and the problem was not resolved. And since then the situation is came and went until on the 27-12-15 when the malfunction took serious proportions and the vehicle developed gear transmission issues. The inquiry found that the oil temperature sensor gear gives Incorrect values and causes overheating of all the assemblies. The component was replaced at a cost of approximately NIS Almost 1600. Although I asked and I begged them to bear the cost due to the fact that I am complaining about the problems since the time I still retained the warranty. This did not help at all and I paid the cost. The problem continued to appear and disappear. But in May this year, once again, there were serious issues.
On 29-5-16 I turned to the central garage in Holon where I usually perform all treatments, the vehicle remained in the garage until 31-5-16 and was told their computer system cannot find any fault and determined the gear burnt and must be replaced at the cost of of 40,000 NIS. I asked and begged that I do not have that kind of money, and explained again that I have been complaining about this issue when I still had warranty; additionally, I clarified that I live on National Insurance pension and social security. I spoke with the garage manager, Mr. Ofer, who made an effort and managed to give me a discount, and the amount was 25,000₪. I still remain insistent that the company should fix it due to the history of the problem. I live tightly and there is no way I will ever be able to spend that kind of money on this issue.
On 5-6-16 I went to a national customer service department of the company and I spoke with a woman named Bathsheba, who took my details, and I never heard from them again. I called again on 9-6-16 and spoke this time to a woman named Bat-El, who took the details of my complaint and the situation repeated itself and no one returned my calls or my request to test according to the Ministry of transport. Also on the Kia website in the questions and answers section appears that there is an additional warranty of a year or 150 000 km on the system which includes the gear and engine. Since I'm without a car, which is parked in my driveway, and cannot get out of my house and I locked in without the option of mobility; I need and depend on the help of friends for simple tasks such as going to the supermarket. I rarely leave the house now. This situation really threw me to the dogs no one found it in their heart to get back to me or give answers to anything: they took the money and disappeared.
Just yesterday called me Mr. Tomer wonder the Ofer spoke to you. I answered not only in the garage at the beginning of the end of May when I took the vehicle from the garage.
I wanted to check with Kia Motors in Korea. It is a special and unusual situation.
They are known for their kindness to those with special needs and disabilities.
Many people who have other vehicles are equipped to mock and laugh at me that I bought a Kia that has only driven 92000 km transmission and needs to, by this time, be replaced with a new Automatic transaxle system . I’ve been told that this only happens with Kia vehicles. Please help me prove them wrong, and help me fix my car that I’ve been trying to get fixed since the first year of driving the vehicle, when I still had warranty, with no avail.
