I didn't know IGN had its own UK branch let along that people in the UK also like Ira Glass? Cool. Hopefully this Ira Glass quote will be kept in mind when IGN reviews games from my next game company I am starting. hahaha. :D

"Gamers have two possible responses to this charge. One is to insist, yet again, that something like Call of Juarez: The Cartel is "just a game" and thus shouldn't be taken too seriously, which isn't an argument so much as a refusal to think honestly about the ethical issues that these games provoke."

Maybe we should stop seeing video games as something strictly for kids. If we understand video games as an art form as in many court rulings have indicated, we must accept that they touch topics such as those proposed Call of Juarez, or as quoted above in Modern Warfare 2.

As in literary works or films, that diversity must exist at least from my point of view. There are movies and books that touch sensitive issues, and others are based on real events, and others who play a recreational purposes only.

The same goes for video games and to be honest, I have no problem with that. Perhaps what should really worry is when it is inspired by real events, it is done with respect.

Hope you understand what Im trying to say, my english is a little rust. Greetings from Argentina.

I actually cannot believe this article. "Books, artworks, and curios dotted around will make it clear that you are an interesting individual." "Pack that lovely Mexican throw, the baseball glove from your summer in America and the cushions from Bulgaria." She suggests turning up with an 8-CUP CAFETIERE and EGYPTIAN COTTON SHEETS.

I don't know what kind of university Rosie went to, but while that shit might fly at Oxford or Cambridge, in the real world I think a sofa throw from Primark and a 20 litre homebrew kit from Boots might make you more popular.

I can't afford to shop at John Lewis now, let alone when I was a student living on a post-rent-paid budget of £9 a week.

Hello, Gamescom! I have enough memories of Cologne now to be able to vaguely recognise things from previous drunken stumblings.

I won an award last night for writing about games on the Internet. Non-gamer friends: this basically means that I am pretty good at being a massive geek.

It was, although I would like to watch it again but I don´t know how... By the way, I just heard the ign uk podcast No. 105 and you know what, anybody who thinks you are less of a gamer for being a girl is a twat (no pun intended).

Xenoblade Chronicles: best Japanese RPG of this generation, in my estimation.

Well, looks like Operation Rainfall is going to need to redouble their efforts.

Xenoblade Chronicles is restoring my faith that it is always possible to innovate within a comfortable and proven template - even if you're not Nintendo.

Honestly, I totally agree. I'm so happy to hear this sort of message come from critics and reviewers, because so often the alternative is to elevate sub-par products via a qualification of the disadvantages of said products by way of a comparison between and then generalization of the other products. (I should specify that "I totally agree" means that I totally agree with your sentiment. I've never played Xenoblade Chronicles, and probably never will (unless it's available on the iPad or Mac)).

+1!
