This will be in our latest TechTalkUK podcast later on, but as it is time sensitive, thought it worth putting here now.

Three UK: OK, they have annoyed us geeks, but let’s not cut our noses off to spite our faces :-)
A good example is 12GB or 12 months of data for £30 for Tablets and Mi-Fi units. If you use the link http://tinyurl.com/ttuk3mbb we get a £15 kick back as well. Happy to share that with anyone who asks. Just email me at kevwright2002@gmail.com and we can discuss.

Another decent deal is only on for another day, so be quick, 200 mins, ACYE SMS and DATA (30GB Hotspot use) at £11.50 for 6 months then £23 and you can choose a 12 mth plan. Go to http://tinyurl.com/ttuk3sim and select ACYE Data and 12 mth boxes. Basically £17.25 a month for the 12 mths.

Testing the water here is there any interest in a draw for an HTC 10?

This is not my HTC 10 by the way, am doing this on behalf of a good friend, and it gives me the chance to play with a new phone for while. The phone is immaculate, came directly from HTC UK, and is supplied in the retail box with unused accs, and a cheapo TPU case.

Here is how these work. UK Only please.

1. Choose a number by seeing what is left at the read only spreadsheet linked below. Comment here which number(s) you want, and I will add them to the spreadsheet. For avoidance of doubt the spreadsheet is the final allocation, not this thread.

2. Once an acceptable number of slots have been filled, I will ask for payment, you are not in the draw unless fully paid.

3. Once I declare the draw live, with a date, the UK National Lottery main draw (for that date) BONUS ball will decide the winner. This way it is completely random, nobody can influence the winner. This could take some time so only choose a slot if you can wait :-)

4. Whoever has chosen the BONUS ball for the declared draw date wins the HTC 10. For the paranoid among you, I would recommend taking a screenshot of the final spreadsheet just before the draw happens :-)

Right, lets see if you folks liked the draw enough to have another go. This time you will win a very lightly used OnePlus 3, soon to be worth £329 :-)

On top of this you will get a 5 pack of various USB <> USB C cables http://amzn.to/29pCUww and a cheap case http://amzn.to/29pCDtP

So I am setting the slot price at £7 this time, and you can buy as many as you want until the 59 slots have gone.

Same as last time, just add a comment to this post saying which numbers you want, have reset the spreadsheet so all numbers first come again.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KfWxEfGZz_xZou2HNRniC-oeM147PZe1KUcyBPAExkI/edit?usp=sharing

Any questions, please ask.

Almost 50% of slots gone. Let's do this!

So, here is the idea :-)

UPDATE: Have decided to make this a UK only thing, so sorry to anyone outside, but looks expensive/hassle to go outside. Again sorry.

I have an idea and want to see if I can get enough support to give it a shot.

I want to ask people to donate £10 (or more!) to TTUK, and the limit is 59 people. For each £10 you donate you will receive a number between 1 and 59, so give £30 and you get 3 numbers.

Once all 59 numbers are issued and paid for, I will declare the donation round as closed, and I will state a date, which will be either a Wed or Saturday.

In that Wed or Sat UK Main lottery draw, the BONUS BALL will decide the winner of a Samsung S7 Edge in Black, 32GB, as new condition :-)

All I want for now is a "Yes I am in" and an indication of how much you will donate.

I don't really want to hear about why I should not do this, but am happy to discuss other aspects.

To choose a number(s) please refer to this public spreadsheet to see what is left.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15xfRweY6KNDIVTlCNYs1OWKIyolUHmO6XyVNbgC5rt0/edit?usp=sharing

No money will be taken until we have covered 50 of the slots. At this level I will ask you to pay up, either PayPal (must be no fees) or bank transfer, and I may decide to go ahead even if the last 9 slots are not filled. In this event, if the Bonus Ball in the main lottery is one of the ones not chosen, the LAST main ball will be used, and we will work backwards until a winner is declared. So if it were Sat 18th we were using, 47 would have won, but if it was one of the 9 free slots, 38 would have won, then 35, 31, 26, 17, and 10. If all of those are unfilled slots I will eat the S7 Edge :-)

I would like to enter the latest draw myself. Anyone have any issues with that given the complete randomness of the draw and the fact is it not my phone?

We may as well open it up and see where we go. £10 per slot. If you want in select numbers. Will probably go live with this with 45 tickets gone this time.

OK, the OPO 3 draw is LIVE, and tonights (16/7/2016) bonus ball from the MAIN UK lotto draw will be the winner.

For clarity, this spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KfWxEfGZz_xZou2HNRniC-oeM147PZe1KUcyBPAExkI/edit?usp=sharing is the final document, any mistakes are my fault, but it doesn't really matter as its completely random obviously.

Sorry if anyone got missed, and despite trying really hard I have 2 people still not paid so those numbers 18 & 24 are frozen and will not be in play unless paid by time draw starts. This bit is hard as I wanted everyone in, but can't wait for just 2 people I think, and can't include if not paid....

So if 18 or 24 come up, main Ball no 6 will be the winner, and god forbid, if that is also one of them, then main Ball no 5 wins it!!! Hopefully both peeps will see my messages before draw :-)

Any questions, you have until draw time to ask :-)

Good luck everyone, its a bloody great phone.

If you are in, please do the payment, if we are quick we could even use tomorrows draw!

All slots filled and half the money is in.

Next thing to do is check your name and numbers at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15xfRweY6KNDIVTlCNYs1OWKIyolUHmO6XyVNbgC5rt0/edit?usp=sharing and make sure you have the numbers you chose (or I allocated) and you have the right number(s)

Please also confirm you are in UK before you pay. Contact me if you are not before paying.

The draw we will use will depend how quickly I get the money in. Doubt we can do it before Saturday but watch this forum for final details of which draw we are using.

SO AT THIS TIME OF POST IT IS NOT SET!!! There will be a final post detailing which draw it is, and if we hurry we may even be able to use tomorrows!!!!

So to pay for your number(s) please send relevant amount to me at

paypal.me/kevwright

This should be set to Family and Friends but please make sure I don't have to pay fees.

If you want to pay direct to bank email me at kevwright2002@gmail.com and I will provide details.

It looks like a few people thought I was inviting you to appear on podcast not this group. Apologies if this was misleading but we don't (generally) do guests on TTUK as we often only decide to record at very short notice.

Co-Host of TechTalkUK podcast.
Introduction
I have been into tech for many years, first with Psion, remember the Organiser? In many ways, the later Psion models, the 3, the 3a, the 3c and MX models were so far ahead of their time, I wonder if updated versions would still sell a few today, in mid 2011.

I moved though many Ericsson phones, long before they were saddled with the Sony tag, and onto almost every Nokia phone going, right from the 7110, up to the N97, the phone that finally had me looking around for something else.

When the original 2G iPhone came out I grabbed one, and sold it almost right away, going back to my trusty N95 and later, the 8GB Black version. With the introduction of Apps, (thanks Jailbreakers!) I was back, and from 3GS I have not really looked back, even though I always felt as a geek I should not really have such a consumer device!

Luckily for me, Jailbreaking came of age, and that kept me very happy for a while, but then Android came along, and today I can be found with an iPhone 4, and whatever the latest and greatest Andy phone is, currently a Samsung Galaxy SII, probably the most powerful phone to ever be available.

Writing this in mid 2011, it strikes me that the real story for the next year or so is software, with both Apple (with iOS 5 and iCloud) and Google (with the Plus services) leading the way.

I now have my own twice monthly podcast, along with my co-host Nick Robinson, which is called TechTalkUK, and can be found by adding .com to that name :-), and I sometimes blog some nonsense over at kevwright.com, although that will be changing now to TechTalkUK.com

Thanks for reading......
