Our Unfathomable Love Abounds
A dear old friend just lost his son, a young man at the beginning of his adult life. We say we can't imagine, but deep down we can and do. When you have children, you want to believe that they'll live a long life, and of course outlive you, their parents. B...

Because Malls, Mary Janes and Making Up
The part when the Mama's right on the friggin' money. Which is usually most of the time. "It's like ' The Family Man ' when they go to store after store in the mall and Jack Campbell wants his Mary Janes, right?" Right. That part. That was during lunch, hou...

From Elusive Hope to Helpful and Healthy Realities

We really should listening more. And answering back. That’s worth at least 10 percentage-point return on engagement, don’t you think?
This means the HR and talent acquisition teams need to take the time when sourcing the best talent and invest in candidate service engagement.

The Truth About Manning Up
“Love is born with solar flares From two magnetic poles It moves towards a higher plane Where two halves make two wholes…” –Neil Peart Early in 1998, she left a clear directive: I want to be with you, but take care of your business, or I'm out. It was more ...
It was more heartfelt and elegant than that of course, but I remember distinctly how they made me feel as I read her letter while overlooking the Pacific: like a matter-of-fact slap, one that was a long time coming, one that left a chilling burn. The wind cold, the sea cold, my heart a cold rock ...

The part where Baymax sacrifices himself to save Hiro and the daughter of the misguided bad guy. That's the part that hit her so hard and fast that every fiber of her little being ached with sadness and burned with free-flowing tears. So much so we had to stop the Big Hero 6 movie for a bit.

Introduction

Currently I’m the Marketing Director for Total Talent at PeopleFluent, the leading total workforce HCM technology company that redefines Talent Management with an innovative Talent Engagement Cloud built around people and not HR processes. I’m responsible for content marketing, product marketing, and social media outreach for our total talent acquisition solutions.

A certified Talent Acquisition Strategist (TAS) and Human Capital Strategist (HCS) by HCI, I have over 15 years of domain expertise and familiarity with the HR and recruiting technology marketplace, including working for and with talent management, talent sourcing and acquisition, video interviewing, assessment, background screening, and training and development providers, helping them to grow and excel their companies.

Before the HR and recruiting technology marketplace, I held multiple leadership positions in B2B and consumer technology marketplace and higher education. My overall business experience includes account management and customer service, marketing, product development, sales, business development, online community management, industry analyst, and being a manager and published writer.

I've also been a top social influencer in leadership, human resources, talent management and recruiting, as well as a prolific "HR business" blogger since 2004. I co-founded the TalentCulture "world of work" community that includes the highly popular weekly #TChat Twitter chat and radio show. I've also authored multiple articles on marketing, business development, HR, recruiting and leadership, and my first business book titled "Tech Job Hunt Handbook" was released in December 2012 from Apress. I’m a council board member of the Candidate Experience Awards and speak at HR and recruiting industry events and on HR/recruiting/marketing related webinars.

Lastly, I'm a proud father and husband, I enjoy reading and write regularly about responsible parenting.
