This pretty much mirrors my impression of Windows 8. The video is quite long, but insightful.

This makes me feel better less bad about GNOME 3.

So, Google+ has been changed! If this were Facebook, there'd be petitions already asking for it to go back to the way it was before! Should we start some?

I don't know about "weep-fest" but there is certainly some amusing one-up-manship over what can be fit into the whitespace gaps.

Why do people who I don't know at all follow me on Google+? I don't post anything or even log in more than once a week.

G+ accounts seem to work more like Facebook "fan" pages or Twitter in that regard.

I know I'm late to the party, but I just saw that there's going to be a sequel to Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Short of a new cowboy space opera, this might be the best possible cinema news.

This makes me more comfortable with dumping all my music into google music. Now I can get it back easily at any time.
Android originally shared:

US Android users, we’re rolling out a few new Google Music features to make your experience even better:

You already know that you can upload up to 20,000 songs to Google Music for free and stream them to your +Android device. Now we’re making sure the process is just as smooth for you to retrieve your music from the cloud. We just rolled out a new version of Music Manager that gives you the option to download all your songs from Google Music, including songs you’ve uploaded yourself and those you’ve purchased in the Google Music store. Your music will still be accessible from the cloud, so you will continue to have all the benefits of cloud access. Now if your computer crashes, you’ll have a great backup for your music. You can learn more in our help center article here: http://goo.gl/f4MrD

And, for those of you that have enjoyed being able to share full plays of your purchased tracks with your circles on Google+, now you can easily share +YouTube videos for songs you’ve uploaded to Google Music. Click the dropdown next to the song title to share the video with your circles, and your friends on Google+ can see what really gets you moving.

I cannot muster the will to select a particular thing to do, so I am sitting here doing nothing and contemplating going to sleep.

I was all set to play a video game or watch some TV, but I didn't feel like anything fit my mood. I just kept picking up different things and then changing my mind until I ultimately ended up poking around Google+.

Oracle bought Ksplice and promised to make it exclusive to their own Oracle Linux (which is supported by nothing), requiring you to pay for a full support contract to use it. They also changed the terms of agreement for current customers indicating that we will not plan to rely on the long term existence of the product on current platforms, effectively completely abandoning the entire existing customer base.

Yet another reminder why Oracle is a horrible, mean-spirited company.

All of the open source bits were removed from their web site along with the announcement. They also have multiple patent applications that may conflict with the GPL code, and I am not qualified to say whether that is something that could prevent an open source effort from succeeding.
