Always good to double check +Barry Schwartz's recap to make sure you didn't miss anything.

No, for the love of Pete, I am not suggesting you "chase the algo", just caring enough about our profession to be apprised of what's going on.

(Mumbles to self, "Geeeez, some people want to turn everything into a negative." (kicks can.))

Odd. You don't get a notification when a tweet gets quoted (the new retweet) on Tweetdeck, but do via web interface.

And just think about all the anlytics programs that are going to be broken due to the lack of RTs. Well, unless Twitter is equating the "quote" as a "RT" via the API.

Of course, the new quoting functionality isn't iOS or Android apps yet, but I did get a notification that I had been quoted via the Android app.

It's finally here! I am so excited to give you a peek at my new #marketing book. I'm not much on self-promotion, but please check it out.

Thanks.

It's not your typical marketing book, so if that sounds like something you would like, you can pre-order it here. » http://bit.ly/1BNB9yV

Smoke Free Environment, HD TV, WiFi, and Facebook? Why are you notifying me that you are on Facebook, and why should I care? Of course you are on Facebook, you're a national restaurant chain.I originally wrote this piece for the Illinois Technology Association blog, and while this isn't a new rant of mine, I wanted to make sure the word reaches far and wide. With any luck, the offenders will read this and at least pause to question their logic be...

Twitter Updates the Analytics Dashboard

Apparently I missed the memo, I happened to login to the Twitter analytics dashboard to find a new look. The bad news is, that the new look feels more consumer/casual/visual focused, but you can get back to more detailed info by clicking on "View all Tweet activity" , where you go to also export the data, or "View Tweet Details" on each tweet.

I don't think they will make it paid. They don't have a track record of monetizing features, just ads. The sad likelihood is that they just flat took it away for non-ad unit analytics.

Newsflash! Google answers a question about SEO with what is essentially, "Just write good content."

Anyone qualified enough to ask Google a question should be well versed by now that fluctuations happen, and good content is important. *Should. ;)

I've come here to connect with people and chew bubblegum; and I am all out of bubblegum!
Introduction

Not your average g33k and / or graphics weenie. I love people in general and am very approachable. Sometimes, too approachable. It is not uncommon for me to be asked for assistance while shopping around Fort Wayne. This fits in well with public speaking, which I am called upon to do frequently.

I am first and foremost an internet marketing guy and having spent many years in sales/marketing has allowed me to bring a unique ROI centric focus to the way I approach web development projects. SEO (search engine optimization / visibility) is a primary goal of every solution. While I have won awards for my web designs, I prefer to ensure the design fits the demographic and fits the conversion goals for the client. I pride myself on not using graphics for graphics sake and likewise with advanced coding. I have a portfolio filled with happy clients, with a bit of pretty darn decent work woven in.

A particular passion of mine is providing knowledge transfer for the LAN party community as well as acting as a liaison between corporate sponsors and LAN event hosts. I run both lanpartycoalition.com and lanpartynetwork.com.

I long to be a published author and a patent holding inventor. Have knowledge in those areas? By all means toss me a bone here.

Wondering if you should contact me, pm me, add me as friend? Go ahead. As I mentioned, I like people. I have come here to network and chew bubblegum, and I am all out of bubblegum.

We sat in the outdoor area which was very nice. It's tucked in behind some tall vegetation which gives shade and some noise buffer. The hostess and waitress were pleasant. The hostess bot only asked us if we needed anything but addressed us by our family name. The hostess watched a dog while someone went in to the restroom. Friendly place.

The ribs were excellent, as were the sweet potato fries. The coleslaw was not very flavorful at all.

Nice hotel that's marred by small nuances. Access to the parking garage is clunky. It involves stairs and an elevator ride to get to the lobby. Drop off under the canopy then park, or pay for valet. Ask if there will be events during your stay. River side reception hall could be heard on 4th floor. That said, the view, on the riverside, is a beautiful look towards downtown Cincinnati. If you walk down by the water there are gorgeous murals along the levee. If you're here for a convention, it is literally across the street. There are many restaurants a short distance, but few within short walking distance. There are trolleys, buses, and cabs though. Cab ride to Cincinnati was $8, the trolleys would have been $1/person. I'd say the breakfast was above average, but not spectacular.

Our server seemed new, but he got the job done and our food was very good. Bonus: They have a replica Han Solo in Carbonite piece. Some of the music playing was questionable.

I just wish they had sweet potato fries here like they do at one of the other locations.
