+Christopher Persley writes to his daughter about his fears for her following #Charleston shooting

Important post from my friend +Christopher Persley, "We must not let fear conquer us . . . I don’t want the evil to win."

Every day I think about the effect my skin color will have on my daughter's life. The looks we receive, the way people talk to me. You've already witnessed some behavior that might well have been motivated by hate.

I've earned a day in celebration of my fatherhood. I just want breakfast, a clean house, and a pedicure. And a sixer of Newcastle. The kids can use the fake IDs I got them for their birthdays to buy it.

If advertising is a legitimate measure of a society’s current desires, targets and priorities, then fathers are indeed a desired, targeted priority, according to a new study.

I don’t see my own father often enough, but I see my boys every day, and their eyes are like time machines, always racing toward tomorrow, taking lessons from the past, and making the most of the now well before it passes.

First timer. Had Sara cut my receding mop today, and I was very impressed with her work, and the whole operation. Clean store, very friendly staff. I'll be coming back.

Been bringing my Lab there for years and never had a bad experience. Always accommodating, friendly and reasonably priced. Plus, unlike many "chain" kennels I've looked at in the Norwalk/Stamford area, they don't charge extra for bringing your own food for the dog (seriously, some places do), giving medications, or letting your pooch out in the yard to play with other dogs once or twice a day. Unlike Camp Bow Wow, they don't make you pay in advance for stays during peak times of the year or not refund you if you have to cancel at the last-minute. Two paws up, Passage East!
