So many great parenting podcasts, so little time. How is a mom or dad to find the ones right for them?

“I sometimes worry that I’m not best person to be your dad; I’m so very, very flawed, and I’m scared of how many of those flaws you will point out in me or will eventually incorporate into your own personality and then spend countless therapy sessions blaming me for.”
You're testing me constantly, which I know is your job and, oh, how I wish that was something the government would pay you a decent wage for; it would be great to have more money in your 529 account for college.

I'd say my kids would have made nearly all the same one for me. Except for the Star Wars one.
My 14-year-old doesn’t have any resolutions for herself, but she has plenty for me.

In case of emergency, mom is not always the person to call.
Let’s begin with a classic riddle: A father and his son go on a hunting trip. Suddenly, their car crashes, the father dies, and the son needs surgery. Medics

The song is the same if you are a work-at-home parent or your tend to bring your work home. Beautiful writing here by +Whit Honea
As a man lucky enough to work from home since my first son was born, I feel guilty that my children get a quantity of my time but not the quality of it.

With young children, the experience of a parent’s can-do mentality can be invaluable, even if that parent can’t actually do something well. Children are not always ready for full transparency.

On this day dedicated to remembering slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., we ask that you pause and reflect on your own legacy of standing up for what is right and fighting injustice, big and small, in your everyday doings.

What Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens not getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame teaches kids.
The parenting decisions I make every day, the lessons I try to impart, the love I share, the example I try to set for my sons … in these things and all else, integrity, sportsmanship and character matter. I don’t need a written rule to tell me that.

I hope that allowing my boys the room to know the limits and reasons of their own emotional state will serve them greatly as they age.

Now that you've seen the new movie, you may want to get an up-close look at the costumes and backstory at this cool exhibit in New York City
Star Wars: The Power of the Costume, a recently opened exhibit at Discovery Times Square, looks at the garb and gear of the popular film series. The NYC Dads Group previewed the exhibit last week and member Chad R. MacDonald has these thoughts on what the dads and their children saw.

Been bringing my Lab there for years and never had a bad experience. Always accommodating, friendly and reasonably priced. Plus, unlike many "chain" kennels I've looked at in the Norwalk/Stamford area, they don't charge extra for bringing your own food for the dog (seriously, some places do), giving medications, or letting your pooch out in the yard to play with other dogs once or twice a day. Unlike Camp Bow Wow, they don't make you pay in advance for stays during peak times of the year or not refund you if you have to cancel at the last-minute. Two paws up, Passage East!
