Mulling over time zones ....
There was an interesting discussion the other day on Twitter with folks in the Rhizomatic Learning community about the concept of “time” in an online learning environment. I hadn't quite noticed just how important a role that time zones play in online interactions, mostly, I suspect, ...

Having spent most of my MOOC-time in a vastly different timezone to the facilitators, I've had a lot of time (literally) to think about this. The biggest benefit for me, as learner, is incubation time. Time to think over posts and comments before replying or adding the thoughts to my own posts. I also time my posts for late at night (my timezone GMT+0930) as this usually get's the most exposure from those over the seas!

I love the last one here--very thought-provoking. Because it's true.

A comic about content, and then a blog post about comics (it all gets recursive around here)

Love me some "x" eyes. Metaphorical thinking can be magical thinking.  I suppose to some teachers every brain is a vessel for filling.

The RhizoRadio Show just got its official release with a plug from +dave cormier (Thanks, Dave) We invite you to add comments and annotations via Soundcloud .... Let's add another layer to the collaboration ....
We've had a soft release of the RhizoRadioPlay, which was a collaborative writing and collaborative performance project for Rhizomatic Learning. (You can read my “behind the scenes” post here) While we made the file “live” over the weekend, we were waiting for Dave to mention it in his ...

Reflections on Connections, or process notes as we wait for the official release of the #rhizo15  radio play ....
If you and I were to sit in a room together — say, over a cup of coffee — I bet we could collaborate on something interesting. A story. Or a short video. Or an image. A play. A comic. Maybe even a podcast. We'd bounce ideas off each other and emerge with something interesting, if only a story to ...

Playing around with the meaning of "content" (stuff and emotions) in Ngram. Can't help but think: we seem less happy the more we add content. (pseudo-analysis)

And think what a short, concise (comment length) post this would make covering all three weeks. Suddenly I feel more efficient than dilatory.

What we do with content is another factor. Maybe hoarding content more than sharing it is what lowers contentment as content increases. Is there a content-potlatch effect?

Content ... a loaded word.
Dave Cormier asks us to consider what we mean by “content” when it comes to teaching and learning in this latest round of Rhizomatic Learning. As usual, Dave poses what seems to be a straightforward idea (oh, you mean: math, science, social studies and literacy, right?) ...

Yes I'm interested if you find out what algorithm they use to convert text to musical notation. I had to pump it up to 1800 ppm and choose a percussion instrument or else it just wasn't listenable (subjective judgement) to my ears.

I thought about what +Wendy Taleo did for the radio -- turning a line from the play into an image -- and went all comic on it. This is my way of honoring +Tania Sheko and the way she allowed her play to get "text-hacked" into something neat.

Ah ... joy ... that difficult assessment tool ... interesting how there was resistance in your earlier program to English connecting to Science.
Great post!

This week Dave asks us – if you can’t measure learning – what can you count? http://rhizomatic.net/2015/04/22/learning-is-not-a-counting-noun-so-what-should-we-count/ Or as Dave says it:   This week’s challenge Get o...
