That said, while I did not finish my degree in an unrelated science major and foolishly took out massive student loans, the connections I made did help land my first job when I had minimal experience, and of course it was fun. Not worth the money, but still there is some unconventional benefit. If my kids were college-age right now, I would find it very difficult to NOT encourage them to go given the silly expectations of so many hiring managers out there. Although hopefully it will be for a science/engineering/math program where they can actually learn a skill/trade that will be in demand.
And related, I'm thinking about switching to T-Mobile soon to get out my AT&T contract and get a new windows phone without a broken screen. :)
