OK, you might have seen this last week. Just a small update... +Alberto Aguirre worked his magic and now has updated Mir snaps with fixes in for the Pi3 - so you can now just install the very latest versions from the store. No need to pass in the old revision number.

oh, and this is coming along
Kodi snap on Mir on ubuntu-core snappy image on a raspberry pi3:

grab the daily pi3 image from http://people.canonical.com/~ogra/snappy/all-snaps/daily/current/
...
snap install --edge --devmode pulseaudio
snap install mir-libs --edge --revision=4
snap install --edge --devmode mir-kiosk --revision=13

add gpu_mem=256 to /boot/uboot/config.txt (and reboot)

grab the kodi-mir experimental snap from:
https://code.launchpad.net/~ogra/+snap/kodi-mir-snapshot/+build/9891

snap install --dangerous --devmode kodi-mir-snapshot_0.1_armhf.snap

check "snap interfaces" and connect the right bits ...
and run: /snap/bin/kodi-mir-snapshot.kodi

More recent improvements for mir-kiosk tinkering. We've cleaned up the mir-client snap...that snap is now named mir-kiosk-apps.
You can find it in the snap store on the edge channel.
Also, now, you don't have to disable/enable the snap to toggle amongst the sample applications. Anyhow, if that's the kind of thing you're into....come and get it

Check out the current state of the unity8 snap.
As we make our way towards an all-snaps image, we're sorting out details of a full device-top experience of unity8 in a snap.
+Popescu Sorin probably makes better demo videos than me anyway :) so I'll share.
Ubuntu 17.04 Unity 8 snap rev 204
+ Unity8 Launcher settings in System Settings, auto hide, size
+ more system apps are using ubuntu platform (terminal app 24Mb, file manager 32Mb etc)
+ snaps run on Xmir

Wanna highlight some great (team)work by +Daniel d'Andrada +Alan Griffiths and +Gerry Boland going in around our push for convergence across all devices and finishing out some key window management features in our miral and qtmiral projects.
Everything from menus and tooltips, to parenting policy as defined by our design team... like finally not having those annoying orphaned dialogs. Lots of goodness will be landing in Zesty in the coming months. Nice works guys!
