Dozens of people have sent me the recent news about Congress grilling Dr. Oz over false claims about supplements and weight loss products. If you've been listening to my podcast, you'll know that I've featured Dr. Oz on many segments of my "Mainstream Media Madness" series.

While a lot of people are cheering and claiming this is a victory against Dr. Oz and people like him, it really isn't.

First of all, the people doing the grilling are more culpable than Oz himself. Senator Claire McCaskill told Dr. Oz, "With great power comes great responsibility." Yet, she's a well known part of the organization that is a root cause of the current obesity and preventable disease epidemic.

If anyone should be taken to task over misinformation and cronyism, it's the U.S. government. They've made corrupting our food supply and profiting from the corruption a science.

Chasing down Dr. Oz and parading him around only serves to take the spotlight off them. And makes it seem like they're doing us all a favor when they're the biggest villain.

Furthermore, this shake up allows Dr. Oz to come away with a "changed man" facade. "I'm so passionate -- I'll do better and REALLY change people's lives!" No, he'll go back to doing what he does best: talking out both sides of his mouth for money and power.

So this is all a dog and pony show. And once again, everyone wins except the consumer. Don't be fooled.

I reject the notion that we're the only animal on planet Earth that needs an instruction manual for eating. That somehow, calories matter to us when they don't seem to matter to anything else.

A lion doesn't wake up and wander the plains of Africa trying to calculate how many calories he needs that day. A crocodile isn't concerned with portion sizes or keeping track of macros. Just because we're intelligent doesn't mean we have to overcomplicate things.

When you eating REAL food, your body calculates automatically (provided you can listen). When you eat fake food, it goes haywire. That's all you need to know.

This isn't a moralistic judgement about food. It's not good or bad. It's just the facts. You shouldn't need a calculator, a scale, and a food log to live life. That's a demanding and unenjoyable existence.

I keep spreading the word. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
The 118th annual Boston Marathon is about to get underway, and like any marathon, it will be an incredible physical tax on all of its participants. There will be heart trauma, organ damage, blood pissing, unspeakable chaffing--and those are the baseline. Below, read Dr. Matt McCarthy's explanation from this past October of what it is, exactly, that a marathon does to your body.

Man, I love Starbucks. But, I'm not happy that they market themselves as "healthy." I wrote a post about it, just to help bring awareness to the misleading marketing >> http://rebootedbody.com/starbucks-healthy/
Starbucks bills itself as having health food and drink options. After a quick analysis, the truth is revealed. Does Starbucks live up to its marketing?

Today I launched the introduction to a five part blog series I'm doing on "conscious eating." I'll release an article a day for five days on this series. You won't want to miss it! Check it out >>
This is the introduction to a five part series on the process and benefits of conscious eating. If you want to receive the additional articles in this series free by email as they’re released, click here. Eating is something we do multiples times per day, every day, without fail. There’s no formal instruction for eating. It’s assumed — at least in my culture — that if you can manage to get the food in your mouth and down the hatch, you’re winning...

That is so true, Kevin. We have too much food and waste too much food.,I say it every week when I grocery shop. When we have quick easy meals, new scarf them down. When I take the time to prepare a good meal we plenty of herbs and spices, we take our time and enjoy the meal. I would say time is the enemy, but that is a cop out. I certainly find time to do other meaningless things. Thanks for honesty check!

First I change your health. Then I change your body. Then I change your entire life.
Introduction
It turns out the health and fitness industry has been lying to you. Even doctors are pushing bad nutritional advice and faulty science. The result is that the majority of men and women are struggling with their weight, feeling out of control with food, living a sedentary lifestyle, sleeping poorly, and are being consumed with stress.

What if you could reboot both your body and mind? What if you could wipe away all of the bullshit programming that's left you struggling and start fresh with a framework for sustainable fat loss, vibrant health, and peak performance?

That's what I offer -- a unique blend of science and psychology that busts myths, changes paradigms, and shuns conventional wisdom. It's not a new diet, it's a process of undieting -- working with your body instead of against it.

This has been the worst hotel experience I've ever had. If this is a four star hotel, 2 stars must be the rating given to being homeless as this is only about two notches above that. I literally had to start making a list of the foolery the day my wife and I arrived with our one year old. 1. We were told we could pay for a Hilton shuttle to pick us up from airport (as we did not bring car seat). Once we landed, we were told there is no such shuttle, leaving us stranded at the airport for an hour while we worked out an alternate solution. 2. The carpet is filthy in the rooms and hallways. It needed to be replaced years ago. 3. Our bathroom smelled like a sewer. We called to complain and they said they'd send someone, which they never did. We asked for compensation for putting up with a smelly room for 4 nights and they replied that there's nothing they can do. 4. The elevator broke while we were there, leaving us to carry a stroller up the stairs. 5. The $16 breakfast is powdered eggs with zero service. The hostess can't even seat you properly, she just walks off without acknowledging that you follow her. And she forgets to bring menus and has to go back and get them?? 6. You don't get a server at breakfast. Nobody greets you. Nobody brings you water. I flagged someone down to ask where the omelet station was (as it says build your own omelet on the menu) and was told they don't have an omelet station (but failed to mention I can place an order for an omelet with the kitchen). Pretty awkward conversation as I'm still left trying to figure out the trick to ordering an omelet. 7. The free wifi in the lobby was down the entire first day we were there. 8. A business partner we were traveling with cited that their shower had no door and no curtain. 9. The staff seems dejected and apathetic. Nobody cares, yet everyone expects a tip (or the tip is included automatically as with breakfast where you get no service and have no recourse). Who gets the mandatory tip when you don't even have a server? I wish I could be paid to provide nonexistent service... The nicest guy was the Shuttle driver to the beach. At least he smiled and was friendly. The fact that this is branded as a Hilton is shameful. DO NOT STAY HERE.

This place has no regard for nutrition. They cook everything in soybean oil, the fish is farmed fish (not fresh, wild caught), and they don't have BUTTER anywhere to be found in the restaurant -- only margarine! Only eat here if you want heart disease.
