Out of all the winners of this year's World Press Photo awards, this is probably a project I love most. I am jealous of this woman's ability.

I woke up later this time, at seven this time. I got myself ready doing the usual routine. At this hour, I was the only one up on my floor, so I tried to creep quietly without making a lot of noise, with some success, I think. My legs were knackered from…
Large tunas. Fast trucks. Sushi. The Tsukiji fish market has it all. I visit the world famous market for the second time after an overwhelming first visit.

Asakusa before and after the great Tokyo firebombing raid.
It was not Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but in many ways, including lives lost, it was just as horrific. On March 10, 1945, U.S. B-29 bombers flew over Tokyo in the dead of night, dumping massive payload...

The Walking Series is an idea I’ve had ever since I moved to Shanghai in 2010. Armed with curiosity and faced with an unfamiliar setting, the end result is a collection of images that may not fit certain themes or mood. There is no other intention other…
In this episode of the Walking Series, we walk the intricate maze of Yanaka old town, renowned for its faithfulness to traditional Edo style culture.

Asian photographers don't exactly dominate the Western photography scene. Indonesian photographers, fewer still. Rony Zakaria has managed to do both with his photo project seven years in the making.

It seems most stories out of Indonesia come from the very touristy Mount Bromo region. Perhaps I should pay it a visit in the near future.

I don't do very many photos in black and white, but I thought this one works well in monochrome.

Gotokuji Temple in Setagaya is believed the birthplace of the Maneki Neko, the cat figurine most synonymous with good luck and prosperity, specially in Asia

Though the story has been done many times, it has not yet lost its novelty or have its power diluted. Luca Catalano Gonzaga visits Indonesia's most famous sulfur mine of Kawah Ijen to capture in images the lives of those that break their backs working in these dangerous and lethal profession.
