Hello Folks, Apologies if this question has already been posted. I have a question about whether it is "acceptable" to incentivize Google (and other) reviews with charitable donations. I see some agencies offering this as a strategy and I wondered what this community's consensus was.

+Gene Maryushenko I agree; I always find it interesting how some agencies formulate entire revenue models around doing something until they get caught. Then other agencies get to charge for cleaning up the mess!

Very clear visual explanation of how adaptive website theory works. Sometimes you have to see it in clear, colourful animations in order for it to make sense.

Just wondering if there have been any updates on applying for specific custom Google Plus URLs for business pages. It's so great that these are being rolled out, but the URLs offered are not (at this point anyway) indicative of our registered business name. Does anyone have insight on this yet?

Treefrog article discussing what goes into a logo and how important it is for your brand.
What goes into making a logo? What's the difference between a cookie-cutter logo and one that's professionally designed?

Ask an SEO Question.  -

Hello everyone,
New to the group, asking an age-old question.
We're having a debate in our company about whether the convention for URLs should be title case, or all lower case.
It appears to be a question of readability versus potential duplicate content, i.e. search engines perceiving different cases as separate pages and therefore duplicate content.
(www.website.com/This-URL versus www.website.com/this-url)
What is the right way to handle URL naming conventions?

Thanks Chris, this is where I would lean; however I don't want to be short-sighted if the readability of the URL takes precedence from an aesthetic perspective. Thanks for your response, I'll be using it as fodder for my argument!

New Ad format for Google search results could invigorate PPC validity. No more sandbox! Would you click on a paid listing in this new format?

#MozCast Feature Alert - Google is doing nightly testing of the new ad format. Here's one with site-links - except for the [Ad] designator, it looks almost exactly like a #1 organic result with site-links (h/t to +RocketFuel for originally sharing this on Twitter).

Does Wikipedia still have a place on the web with Google's expanded definitions?

#MozCast  Feature Alert - It looks like the new, expanded definition boxes may be hitting live SERPs now. Here's one for "led" (https://www.google.com/search?q=led) - it's about the size of an answer box in regular form, but once expanded, it's 2,117 pixels high.

Easily the best sushi place in York Region. Quality food, very much worth the price. The owner is one of the nicest folks in the area. Quaint little place that you wouldn't necessarily notice from the street—but you owe it to yourself to check it out.

CORE has worked on several projects for our company. We refuse to let any other cable installation company handle our network cabling. Great company, great people—highly recommend them!
