I have transparent nav bar enabled but it's still black on my Moto X.
Dumb question but will the Transparent Nav Bar only work with 4.4 ROM?
Brian O
+Eric Sorensen But it specifically says "Transparent nav bar on Moto X" and the Moto X isn't on 4.4 yet.
Transparent system bars will not be available to all devices . The system bars are drawn by the SystemUI component, not the launcher. KitKat introduces an API for apps such as Nova Launcher to request that the SystemUI draw these with only a light gradient background. Not all KitKat devices will support this functionality for performance reasons, and Nova will be unable to force it. Also older Android versions are unaware of this new API in KitKat and thus will not get transparent system bars. The exception is that some devices, such as the TouchWiz SGS4, had transparent system bars implemented by the manufacturer skin, and Nova is able to make use of their private APIs for this. https://plus.google.com/u/0/+KevinBarry/posts/4BwdcKy5T2b
Anyone know what the fast scroll with vertical drawer means? I have a vertical app drawer and can't see any difference.
Can't find the trasparent bar here on nexus 4...
+Brian O Hm, true.  Maybe he just needs to reset the launcher after applying changes.
Awesome update for a beta!
Anyone having issues with transparent notifcation bar HTC One?
Is Google now always listening available?
+Bent Christensen that api isn't provided by Google and also that feature is from newer Google search in kitkat and not from the launcher alone.
Google now listening is not available. I hate to say this, but I've grown accustomed to GEL. I can't give it up.

I will still be using Nova on my N7 and wife's N4 though.
Any word on when we'll be able to get Kit Kat icons for the look and feel?
+Carmine Domenico Stanzione LG G2 stock launcher , just like samsung touchwiz has the option for transparent nav bar. Will Nova be able to do the same? os is it a closed api? Thanks
This is wonderful work. Love Nova. Keep up the good work.
+Kevin Barry Were is a good place to submit bug reports? attempting to delete backup settings force closes nova. Maybe this has to do with the new "select which SD to backup to" option.
+Paolo Gentili Are you using 4.4? If you are then because it's a port or AOSP build it may not work properly...
no, I'm on 4.3 stock. I have only the option to don't view the bar.
+Paolo Gentili That's because it's a 4.4 only feature (and some Samsung devices), 4.3 doesn't have the API's... Unless you using +Paranoid Android
in which case it's the ROM not the launcher...
Sorry, just a question. I am rooted, and have transparency options for my status bar, but it is not showing the option for transparent status bar. I saw someone else mention this also. Thanks!
Are you sure it's a Beta?  Coz it works as good as a stable one :-)
* Sometimes the icons and widgets disappear for 1 second then return (when exiting an app by pressing home button)
* Kitkat app drawer is a must :)
* there are some glitches that weren't there with the google launcher such as not responding apps when pressing on them (on nova)

Beside that, it's a great update considering is the first beta

Great job
Seems to working really well for the most part.

I've noticed that when unlocking the device, the navbar and status bar loose their shadow effect for a brief second and then return to normal.

Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Nevermind. Issue fixed by switching off shadows. :)
When you enable transparency on the notification bar and have the drawer set to a semi transparent background, the transparency remains on the notification bar when the drawer is active which looks a bit odd. I think it would be better to switch to black bars in that case like it does if you set the drawer to non transparent.
Hello, nice work, I wanna ask about Google now main page as in GEL 4.4, will this be implemented as one of the main pages? :)
(Galaxy nexus 4.3 :( )
I just can't get the shadow to work in the status bar
Am confused about transparent system bars on Moto X-- I don't see an option for a transparent notification bar in the settings. Is only a transparent navigation bar available on Moto X?
why not include a Beta Prim version for people who've paid so I could chose to upgrade to the beta if I wanted, I just ran across this I've been checking the play store daily to see if there were any updates.... Any plans to add the "OK Google" feature like the stock dashboard, if its even do-able?
I don't have the "Transparent Navigation Bar" option on my Nexus 7 (4.4). Is there a way to get a transparent notification bar with a traditional, solid black nav bar? I think it looks really bad having the nav icons just kind of floating there below the dock with no separator or anything.
