Haven't posted anything here for a while but finally chugging through some backlog, which means animals! back to the +Wildwood Trust in Kent I went back in February for a very long overdue visit, which meant pursuing my nemesis the Pinemarten and stalking wolves.

The New York Series: day 7 Image 1

So the final day of images (for those who have noticed, there is no day 6, I decided to see New York through my eyes and not through a viewfinder)

The final day took us for a hot morning stroll through Flushing Meadows park up in Queens.
The First shot is of a statue called The Rocket Man (no not of Elton John!)

Been a while since I posted here, getting rather choosy what I do post but this has become a firm favourite of mine in the past week

Taken while wondering the back streets of London with +Andrew Clifton-Brown last week.

Just back from a very recent honeymoon to Rome, however the airline decided to cancel the direct flight to Rome so we had a rearranged journey that would take us via Copenhagen with a 7 hour stopover there. Never been there before however will never miss an opportunity to explore somewhere new!

The New York Series: Day 7 Image 2

The final image from the #newyork adventure,
At the World Fair site in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park there is a huge metallic globe (it has appeared in a lot of films over the years) and one of the guys actually noticed this shot potential before I did. The planes were taking off from La Guardia airport and it was just a matter waiting for the right plane on the right heading to pass through the framing.

So no more images from New York any more, and only took 3 months to post them :P

The New York Series: Day 5 Image 8

This day is most certainly drawing to a close, Its ticking midnight, and the last stop of the day is the Empire State Building. Best time of the day to visit is the middle of the night, it's open late, no queues for security, straight to the top and no queuing for space to get "that" shot. Which means I fired off a load of shots from the top and will only show one from here.

This shot is looking north towards central park, with times square off to the left.

To me this is what New York is, it really does never sleep.

It has been a long time since I have eaten here but when I did it was simply all about us, the customer. Every effort is taken care from greeting to bill to ensure our visit is the best. Range of options on the menu are vast and spoilt for choice. When the food arrives it has that look and flavour of authentic Italian Food, having been to Rome in the past 6 months I can definitely say this is the closest you will get to authentic Italian food in the UK (and arguably beats the Italian option over there. Pricing is fair but for the overall experience it is always worth paying extra. Always a visit is on the cards to this place when the option of eating out comes around.

Not a typical Primark customer however one to avoid on a weekend, staff seemed disinterested, especially on the fitting rooms, chatting to other staff about non work topics. Best time of the day to go in is first thing on a weekday, quiet tidy and staff have actually checked stock out the back for me, this is never entertained on a weekend, with the general response being " everything is out" However till service is always quick here even with large queues they go quickly, only time you get held up is with other customers faffing around.

Just been there to eat this evening with the significant other and oh wow the choices for burger lovers in what is a crowded market these days is excellent. Nothing fancy and attention to taste excel here. The burgers cooked pink as standard and melt in the mouth. The dog I had was wrapped in bacon and to be honest was the best I have ever had and that includes street food I had in New York! Worth a pop looks to be frequented by locals who know what they want and the food is quick to the table! Also if you fancy a splash of bourbon in your shakes these are not to be sniffed at either (maybe could be bigger servings though)!

Standard Nando's to visit, however very clean everywhere. Didn't have to wait long to order my food at the till, of which was taken accurately first time round. Waited around 10 minutes for food, which came temperature hot so knew it wasn't sat on the side for a period of time. Ordered a Medium spice but didn't seem as hot as other Nando's around London, but definitely hotter than lemon and herb. Overall really nice restaurant and one I repeat back to often and always get the same impression as above every time.
