Gotta call a spade a spade. By punting to other groups to filter out those "unworthy" of participating, Amazon shows its true colors and motives: AmazonSmile was not set up to truly make a difference but rather to appease and attract customers and it is painfully clear in its execution.
Until companies like Amazon step up and make a authentic commitment to truly make a difference and drive funds to the smaller nonprofits doing most of the local difference making, this program does nothing other than continue what many other big corporate giants are doing with their corporate giving programs: fueling the disparity in funds between the big fish and the little fish.
