An epic Aussie adventure - 9.5 weeks in the Australian outback

A sunburnt country These days, the word epic can be, in my opinion, a little over-used.  I blame TV reality programs for most of the over used words in today’s vocabulary.  Not that I watch them, but you sometimes can’t miss the advertisements.  Journey…
If you are planning a road trip through the Australian outback, this article provides you with some great tips and more than a good dose of inspiration.

Driving Iceland

We love taking our #Jeep on the #road and there are plenty of good roads to explore in #Iceland. We took in such amazing scenery, seeing wildlife along the way.

Have you been? Check out our #itinerary here: http://www.reflectionsenroute.com/the-best-of-iceland-a-one-week-itinerary/

Independence Palace - an iconic building in the history of Ho Chi Minh City

One of the great museums in Ho Chi Minh City I’m not a big fan of museums at all.  Visiting them is not something we actively plan for, and if we went an entire trip without setting foot in one, there would be no tears.  But, occasionally, we do find one…
The Independence Palace is one of the museums in Ho Chi Minh City. It's a great way to soak up the modern history of a city entrenched in the Vietnam War.

Imagine being able to just stop, open your side door (which is across from your dining table) and have a a view like this as you eat your beautiful French lunch.  This is just one of the things you can do when you travel in a motorhome.

Union Lane, the sneaky laneway linking the Bourke St Mall with Little Collins Street is full of colour and street life.

The best view of Munich, Germany is from the top of St. Peter's church at Marienplatz. 2 Euros and a lot of stairs are well worth this bird's eye view.

Ummmmm delicious mangosteen

Have you ever tried this amazing fruit? It is one of the tropical fruits grown in Hawaii with a very short shelf life so when you see them in the farmers markets or other specialty markets, by them because they are only in season for such a brief time frame and worth the effort.

I share many of my favorite tropical fruits and when they are in season in this post below, check them out if you want to try something beyond bananas and pineapples.

Simple but yummy.  French food is just amazing and being able to just stop at local markets and boulangeries is something we love.  FResh bread everyday!  This is a roadie lunch, when we are on the go.

Beer and Croissants
Introduction

Beer and Croissants is a travel website providing tips, advice and great stories about great destinations around the world. It's aimed at travel loving couples who are financially independent and have a degree of flexibility as to when and how they travel.  Every travel adventure also has a recurring food theme and there's always plenty of local wines and beers being sampled.

These are the people who don't mind spending their money on the finer things in life, sometimes middle of the road, sometimes luxury, but never budget or backpacker.  They are independent travellers, making up their own travel plans and using their own steam to get around.  This website provides them with the inspiration and ideas for where to go and how to do it.

This was our 5th motorhome trip in Europe and our 2nd with FMH (Hannah and Phill). Given our experience with other companies, I can honestly say that I would not bother using any other motorhome hire company in Europe ever again. FMH is more than just a hire company. They build such a level of trust with you prior to your hire period that you will never find anywhere else. I've used other companies before where you are literally treated as "next in line". Hannah's communication during the quoting/pre-hire period was exceptional in terms of clarity and timeliness. Phill and his team on the ground at checkout are also highly professional and efficient, making sure we understood all of the operational requirements. FMH have highly competitive rates and their motorhomes that they hire out are in impeccable condition. What you see on the internet and in their emails is exactly what you get, which isn't always the case with other companies. Their depot at Veron (near Sens) south of Paris is easy to get to, and being in a small village, it eliminates any requirement to navigate your way out of a big city on the first night of your pickup. Their motorhomes are extremely well equipped and they have continuously improved on this over the time they have owned the business by listening to customer's feedback. It's truly wonderful to be able to hire from such a reputable business and even better that they are so willing to help you, through any part of your trip, if required. Their team also provide excellent customer service. If only we could bring our dog over to Europe with us (and not cost us a small fortune), we would be buying an ex-rental motorhome from them to continue our love affair with Europe. In the meantime, we will just continue to hire from these wonderful people. Do yourself a favour. If you are even considering what life would be like on the road, dancing to your own tune, give FMH a call. You won't find a better deal, or a better company around.
