Try my finished game!  -

As I mentioned before, we didn't want to rush our prototype for our commercial game, so I wrote and illustrated a web-based "choose your own adventure" horror story for March instead.  It was pretty fun.  Thoughts welcome.

Thanks!  I was kind of reminiscing about those books more than I was trying to create a work of literature, and I wanted to keep it light since no matter what happens, you die.

Here's video of our February game.  FYI, I am putting sprites and music from this game and PorcuPop up on opengameart.com - username LivingMidnight.  Let me know if you're using anything - I'd love to see it!

Thanks,  +Carsten Ruhr It's so catchy I was worried it already existed and I was just remembering it.

Getting there, little by little.  Preview of the enemy movement and some of the sprites for PorcuPop.  Collision detection coming soon...

All i meant was that i was trying to be constructive. The looking like an idiot part was my own insecurity not anything anyone said. So. No beef.

WORK IN PROGRESS  -

We won't be able to finish our commercial game prototype this month, so we decided I should try my hand at a simple text based adventure. I'm using Quest, which is very painless and fun for a non-programmer such as myself, and can be adapted for browsers or mobile devices.

This is my first draft story board. It's inspired by Japanese horror, so there's basically no way to survive. Lol.

No, I haven't.  I wasn't super pleased with the Quest software because it wasn't sizing the images properly in Firefox when I uploaded the file.  We ended up doing it ourselves in Dreamweaver and hosting it on our own website.  I will check Twine out.  thanks for the tip.

Great score!  Glad you liked it, Robert.  Those dragons are hard.  You have to get three of them to win, and you have to get them right in the face.  I've never done it.  Like the dragon, the troll rock is a hybrid of the Space Harrier floating stone head and the troll face.  Fun to make!

More sprites for PorcuPop.  The toad is my favorite.  He will jump at you mercilessly, and stick to your quills if you aren't careful.

I have trouble drawing things completely out of the blue, so I usually base them on something that caught my eye in a google image search.  I thought this combo worked out really well.  Where do you guys get your art ideas?

Still too expensive for us, but a subscription service is a good idea.
