What does that mean for online marketing? You can't just pick one - SEO, various social media, etc... It all works together. If you want to get more from Google search, you may have to do more with Twitter. As always, you have to be wherever your audience is.

It all works together:
Twitter CEO doesn't offer a specific date or details. He also says that Twitter is working with Apple to add Twitter content to Spotlight search on iOS and OS X.

Does your SEO company try to scare you?
It is just sad that companies claiming to do competent SEO STILL try to tell their clients that if they cancel service they will lose search traffic. What these companies are doing is not SEO, it is extortion. Most SEOs who try to strike fear in a client are doing things like setting up their own site for you,r business and building links to that. When you stop paying, their FAKE site is taken down, along with the links from that site to yours.
At this point, it probably won't hurt you at all to fire that SEO and hire a real one. They (you) WILL get caught by Google sooner or later. The best thing to do is clean up your act now and kick these frauds and their "magnet" sites to the curb.

How Google Processes Links
Ever wondered how search engines crawl, analyze, index, and rank pages?  It's complicated, yet kind of simple when you really pick it apart.

Searchers Use Complete Questions (not just keywords) 27% of The Time  and "long tail" queries of 4 or more words 50% of the time.

Blue Nile Research has done an interesting study of The Psychology of the Searcher here:

This supports what we've been saying about keywords and SEO for a few years:

Psychology of the Searcher: Patterns in How Searchers Formulate Queries Executive Summary: Marketers see visitors from a wide variety of search queries coming to their site.  This data is valuable in guiding a search strategy, but it has existed in a vacuum, with little known about how searchers make decisions about how to phrase their search that lead up to ...

My take is that adding content with a title or content that answers the who, what, where, when and how will help incorporate the long tailed queries in your content. Especially the "how" in my case. Right?

The Best SEO Is A Great User Experience
Stay ahead of the crowd with Ker Communications…
We said this little more than 2 years ago: http://kercommunications.com/seo/user-experience-seo/

Take a look around at the most popular SEO blogs, forums and other places where people in the know about SEO go. What do you find there? People who just figured out that User Experience (or UX) is the secret sauce. Here's a good one: http://searchengineland.com/cut-crap-real-reason-delighting-users-fundamentally-seo-strategy-219476

I can totally recommend Ker Communications if you are looking for no nonsense SEO. I had hired two other SEO companies before this and was skeptical. A colleague recommended I talk to Ker Communications. I spoke with Nick for about an hour and learned more about the website in the first call than I ever learned from the predecessors. It took a few weeks to clean up and really optimize the site, and we worked together to develop really good content and a strategy to get found in organic search and social media. After the 4th month, the number of visitors more than tripled, and we have the online sales numbers to match! Still going strong and growing, even after those Penguins ate some of our competitors.

I hired Ker Communications to make a marketing documentary and now we do weekly web video show too. The videos, promotions and work done on our website and search engine optimization have brought many viewers to my site and lots of people into my restaurant. He finds a way to make things work better and I highly recommend.

A refreshing source of no nonsense guidance and really creative ideas. This search engine and social stuff can be a little overwhelming. Nick has a talent for using common sense to clear up the confusion about SEO that comes from just about everywhere else you look.
Always good, always fast. A lunch or dinner favorite of everyone here.
