Visit the original “Big Red Train” on Belmont Stakes day!

Seventeen years ago, on June 9, 2001, Bob Baffert brought a highly-regarded 3-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred to New York where Point Given “justified” his trainer’s confidence in him by cruising to a jaw-dropping 12 plus-length victory in the Belmont Stakes.

Join us for Belmont Stakes Day at the Hall of Champions, Saturday, June 9, with two shows (10:30 am and 1:15 pm) that feature 2001 Belmont winner Point Given, plus Funny Cide (3rd in the 2003 Belmont) and Go for Gin (2nd in the 1994 Belmont). Free souvenir mini posters will be available (pictured) while supplies last.

*KHP MEMORIES*
In honor of the KHP's 40th Anniversary, we will be sharing special memories from employees, volunteers, guests and competitors throughout the season. Please message us if you have a memory to share!

Joy Padgett, KHP volunteer, shared this photo of a postcard sold at the gift shop in 1992. The postcared features Joy leading Buck and Lee, two horses that had been residents at the park since it opened in 1978! Buck and Lee were 19 and 20 years old when Joy worked with them.

If you are interested in volunteering at KHP visit https://buff.ly/2IAr9c5 for more information.
