Very nice instructions. Thanks! To get the belt into the carriage, start at a steep angle on one end, and work it in. Use a good light so you can see where it needs to go. I have one other suggestion: To get the belt over the motor pulley, I loosened the motor mounting screws to let the pulley lean in a bit. It still took some force, but it went on, and then I tightened the motor screws.

The Richmond Folk Festival is coming up! Last year an estimated 190,000 people came to see free music of many kinds, none of it sounding like what most people think of as "folk", that '60s music. There will be country, funk, blues, kosher gospel, Cajun, and music from all over the world. This year's big headliner is Rosanne Cash. It is FREE! Yes, they will ask you for a donation. Give 'till it hurts, and then just a little more, because you know how cheap you are. If you are broke, that's cool too.

Perseid meteor shower peaks Sunday night, but keep an eye to the sky for now. There are always a few strays. If the weather is good, I will go out to a dark place to see what I can see, and test the Canon CHDK lightning detect script on meteors. Is it sensitive enough?

The lightning detect script allows a threshold of 1. For lightning I normally use 10. It looks clear. I have to try it.

Now that it is clear that the US was involved in creating Stuxnet and Flame, it is clear that there will eventually be a new branch of the military in the Department of Defense. Some people are upset that there is war through the Internet, but at least there are no direct casualties.

Ray Bradbury
When Ray Bradbury died, the library set up a table with his books. I picked up one I did not remember, and I found several stories I had not read, and many I read so long ago they were still like new....

There will be a class on basics of Linux at the maker space Saturday. Why use it? How can you try it? What is different, other than than not being owned by Micro$oft? The class will run for about 10 to 2:30 with a lunch break, and the cost is $20. Come on down. It is in the city, near the Diamond, at 1600 Suite E Roseneath Road. It is right behind The Dairy Bar.

I found another phone in the road. Like the other phone, a nice LG Android, it is locked. There should be a way to contact the owner to return a phone. I reset the LG, but I don't need a Blackberry.

Anyone know any funny error messages? Not fake, real OS and app errors. I once saw, "Too Many Arguments" in Adobe Illustrator.

I knew a guy who put a message in some code that said "This can't possibly happen". A couple of times a month, in code that ran 24/7, it did, in fact, happen. There were suspicions the machine was haunted.

You can now get GPS modules for about $10 shipped! That is cheaper than real-time-clock chips, and it will always give perfect time.

Hmmm... wonder if I can embed these in a cat somewhere. I've got one that gets out once in a while and hides.

This tiny device plugs into a computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and lets you use any remote control to control the computer for things like media players. There is some software you load on the computer. Set up a media center (NetFlix, downloaded movies, YouTube, Hulu, etc.) with your TV, and use this to run it. The price is about $25. http://flirc.tv/
Take control of your media center and the clutter off your living room table. Easy Setup. Use our automated GUI to setup ANY remote control with your PC Media Center. How it Works. Flirc learns any re...

I have a new source of inspiration: Simon Sinek. His main idea is that when we start with why rather than what, people will buy. That is too simple. Look him up. Watch a video.
