Kenny Bowers is smoking something – brisket and pork to be exact! The acclaimed chef and his business partners, Mike Hutchinson and Bob Stegall, opened Kenny’s Smoke House at The Shops of Legacy in January 2013. Kenny’s Smoke House is not your typical BBQ Joint, the full service restaurant features a full bar with house smoked bourbon and Grey Goose on tap.

“I’ve always been a weekend barbecue fan,” notes Bowers. “This is a restaurant concept more than twenty years in the making.” Bowers has not only been barbecuing recreationally for years, but has visited many of the nation’s top destinations for grilling, smoking and barbecuing meats to evaluate techniques and ingredients. The menu features pulled pork, brisket, both beef and pork ribs and smoked sausage sourced from Southside Market in Elgin, Texas.

Kenny’s Smoke House specializes in a variety of meats smoked daily over hickory. “Hickory is like the Pike Place Blend of smoking woods,” notes Bowers. “It provides an easy, comfortable smoke level and burns to just the right temperature.” For the non-meat eaters, the menu also features a variety of seafood dishes.

When you walk in to the restaurant, you are immediately greeted with the aroma of smoked meats complimented with strains of blues and jazz. The warm intimate dining room will feature exposed brick and rich mahogany wainscoting. But like all of Bowers restaurants, guest comfort and experience will take the forefront.

Kenny’s Smoke House joins Kenny’s Restaurant Group which includes Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill, Kenny’s Burger Joint and Kenny’s Italian Kitchen.

YUM! This place is delicious and we've always had friendly service. I'd go for the pulled pork if it's your first time but, be careful, you may get hooked!

Best BBQ I've ever had. The GM Liz totally took care of us. the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing. I also highly recommend the beef brisket.

It was my first time here but have been to the Beltline location countless times. This one is just as amazing and guaranteed to not disappoint. Hunter was the waitress and she did an absolutely fantastic job! Liz, the manager, dropped by the table and issued a friendly welcome. Kenny's is hands down one of the best restaurants in the DFW area and will become a staple in anyone's diet with a single try.

Love this place. Went here to celebrate my birthday last week. The manager allowed us a reservation for 10 on a Friday night at 7pm. The table was ready when we arrived. Our waitress, Molly, was one of the best servers I have ever had! She called me by name and gave everything a personal touch that is difficult to find in the food service industry these days. The BBQ was spectacular and made exactly to order. Marbled brisket and beef ribs are winners, but make sure you start out with some of the brisket stuffed fried jalapeños. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting. Will return again soon!

Top notch food and service. Very well done, and the atmosphere is great. Friendly service as well. The only thing I'd like to see is a larger selection of beers on tap.

The smoky smell as I approached the restaurant was the selling point, but I walked away wanting more smoke flavor on the meats, especially the brisket. I had the sampler. Fall off the bone ribs were really good. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was great, too. The brisket and pulled pork were just ok, in my opinion. The smoked gouda mac n cheese was a great side! More smoke and a thicker bark on all the meats and this place would have been 5 stars. The wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Definitely recommended.

How can these be the best pork ribs around when they taste like they've been boiled? They lack real depth of flavor, just taste like boiled meat with a lot of spices thrown on top. The cole slaw was also a disappointment, almost mashed consistency, not shredded cabbage, heavy on the dressing that was not memorable in any way. Disappointed, especially because this place got such great reviews.

The ahi tuna salad is the best kite menu item. We visited for a business lunch and other guests ordered salads as well.
