I think what the ESA is doing is fascinating!
Just 6km Above The Surface While you were doing what ever you do on Valentines day (I was doing yard-work), the European Space Agency's spacecraft Rosetta took some beautiful new images of Comet 67p/Churyumov-Garasimenko from just 6,000 meters above the surface. That's just 3.7 miles above the surface. To put that in context 35,000 feet that airliners frequently fly at is about 6.6 miles above the surface of the Earth.

For those of you that are planning on following the debate on this kind of stuff I foresee the need for popcorn. Lots and lots of popcorn.
Big Bang a Big Bust? The Big Bang has been the prevailing cosmological model to explain the beginnings of the Universe for decades. The beginnings of the model trace back to 1927 when Georges Lemaître noted that an expanding universe might be traced back to a single moment in time. However a new model applies quantum corrections to work with Einsteins theory of General Relativity.

Why can't Google do this with Google Drive? Microsoft is giving away 100gb of OneDrive storage for free.
Microsoft OneDrive is Awesome Cloud Storage Google Drive and Dropbox eat your heart out! Microsoft is giving away 100gb of storage free on OneDrive for two years. The only catch is you have to agree to receive the occasional marketing email from Microsoft. If you sign up for Bing Rewards with your Microsoft account and follow the links, you'll get your 100gb of cloud storage goodness.

While this would be disastrous for our planet if it the Moon was this close, this is a fun thing to think about. It's cool but kinda creepy.
Really Cool and Kinda Creepy Chances are you've never wondered what it would look like if the Moon orbited Earth at the same distance as the International Space Station. Obviously, this would never work in real life, but it's kinda cool to think about. Check out this really neat and very surreal video simulation.

The article is a bit basic but it is a good place to start for new photographers.
Photography Basics Like everything in life, mastery of photography is mastering the compromises inherit to the medium to create the image you envision. If you are ready to step beyond automatic and "easy" settings on your camera, you need to understand the interplay between ISO, shutter speed and aperture.  The three of these comprise the Exposure Triangle. This brief tutorial will help you understand what each of them do separately ...

In case you haven't heard, +Microsoft is giving away 100gb of free OneDrive storage. This combined with my Bing Rewards I just redeemed and I'm up to 218GB on OneDrive.

+Zero Planck good point, but I picture more of a water tower connecting the Earth and moon. I picture the ground itself surging as a wave though.

The Fotasy PK-NEX adapter (Pentax k- mount to Sony e-mount) is an excellent adapter. Especially for the money.
As promised, here is the video and image sharpness test of this lens. All in all, I find this lens impressive but you'll have to watch the videos and decide for yourself.
