Looking forward to receiving mine in a few days. I actually prefer the chest strap. More accurate and after a while I don't even notice it. I do heart rate training so I choose accuracy. I currently use a Polar Loop with a chest strap. I'm interested to see how the Vivoactive compares as I train for my next race.

The polar loop with the combined chest strap is one of my all-time favorite's. It's an amazingly accurate heart rate monitor. I will say that the little bit that I've seen already on the Vivoactive makes it a winner. Stay tuned for my full review here in a few days.

Who wants one?
Fried frogs can look frighteningly like failed science experiments and imagining eating them might conjure gooey liquid slime down your throat but they're actually quite enjoyable to eat. So even though this black bun burger looks like it has disgustingly trapped a gross frog, I'm sure it tastes just fine.

About what I expected. Sounds like this one gets a pass this time.  Perhaps improvements in GPS and HR will come with the next iteration. At this price point however, it's disappointing to say the least.  For quite a bit less money, the #polarm400   does everything the Surge does with greater accuracy.
It’s been a few months since Fitbit announced a trio of products, including their first GPS watch – the Fitbit &helip;

Honestly I chalk it up to a $12 lesson. I learned that Pivotal Living had a compelling idea that they just couldn't execute. I also learned that the data from activity trackers is actually useful to me. From this lesson I went out and bought another tracker with a bigger price tag but no static issues. Actually I've never heard of any tracker having issues with static. I don't have time or energy to pursue a refund of my $12.

Great news - that's quite the undertaking. Hopefully the decision process is finished, and your attention can be focused on the 5k (those suckers are tough!)
I'd love to do a color run or though mudder ;)

I appreciate the update!

Pretty good stuff.
No need to throw out the chocolate, booze, and carbs. Pope Francis has a different idea for fasting this year.

I call BS. It seems law enforcements wants to have its cake and eat it too.  Basically, they're saying technology is good as long as it isn't in the hands of regular people. Meanwhile, they run to courts and lawmakers to get them to allow police to attach GPS trackers to citizens' vehicles, or to examine a person's cell phone call history or text messages with out a warrant.

How is Waze any different than a driver flashing her/her high beams at oncoming drivers to warn them of a speed trap? Additionally, if you're in a public place and have no reasonable expectation of privacy, how can you have a problem with citizen surveillance, when you want to put us under surveillance without reasonable suspicion or any suspicion at all of a crime?

Don't give in Google.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Not only does a feature of a popular Google Inc. mobile app put police officers’ lives in danger, it also interferes with law enforcement’s ability to carry out its speeding ticket mission,…

#tbt I came across this yesterday while moving stuff around my home office.  My old Nexus One.  This was the best phone back in the day.

One of the reasons I chose the #polarloop and H7 chest strap over other fitness trackers with optical heart rate sensors. Much more accurate heart rate measurements = more accurate caloric output calculations.

Yeah, the heart monitor on my Android Wear device is next to useless. After reading this I'm going to check out the Polar WearLink, would save me from having to wear two wrist devices.
