Our 25-y-o daughter ran the Austin Half Marathon this morning. A few minutes ago I sent her a text asking it how it went. She replied, "I may have gotten a pr? I can't tell but I think I did better than houston."

I replied, "pr=? prize rooster?"

"Personal record," came the clarification.

"Oh. I'd rather have the rooster. But congrats on the personal best."

Pleased to see Backstreet Kitchen in Revival Market, one of our favorite gastronomical destinations in Houston. I enjoyed working on the photography for this labor of love - the recipes and stories are great. What a wonderful holiday gift idea... :)

For 16 years we stayed with the same legacy electric provider. We had an out-of-contract Monthly Flex Plan and were never late with payments. We use an above-average amount of energy this time of the year; peak usage makes the end of summer expensive. The company that took us for granted all those years offered a lower rate AFTER we chose a different provider.

What a difference a month makes: the new progressive energy provider delivered a welcome savings of more than $200 for about the same usage. And the taxes that were tacked on by the old provider are included with the new plan.

It was easy to make the switch and the lower energy expense really makes a difference with the household budget. Maybe you should go electricity shopping?
