My first feature for VentureBeat is on Y Combinator. After a decade of helping startups, what's the program's secret?

It's about experimenting and always putting founders first. There's some amazing tidbits from Jessica Livingston, Sam Altman, Qasar Younis, David Rusenko, Don Dodge, Jason McCabe Calacanis, and Chase Adam in here.

Please read and let me know what you think.

Twenty-four-year-old Brian Liou was a little nervous. But he had to focus. His turn was next. Liou is the cofounder of Leada, a startup to help businesses train better data analysts, and he had a lot riding on this. After all, his company had just pivoted two weeks ago. So, no pressure.

Following Carly Fiorina's appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt in NYC this past week, I thought about how cool would it be to have candidates from the major political parties engage the tech community in a unique'ish debate. Which publication would be ideal to host this contest I'd opt for TechCrunch...

Regardless of whether or not this actually happens (probably not), I wanted to get it out there and have people call me crazy. Enjoy.

I've been a avid user of Path for a few years and even covered it when I was at The Next Web. But there's something peculiar about where the platform is going. Not quite sure if I hit something, but I wanted to get my thoughts out. Does Path still have a focus, even now as an app studio?

An opinion piece on Path's constant changes and what it might need to do to find itself after shifting from private social network to an app studio.

Yahoo calls itself a "mobile-first" company (but who doesn't?). So what does it do next? It'll launch a new suite of tools for developers intending to help research, market, monetize, and engage users. And while it's late to the game, it hopes you'll use them. #mobileyodel

Wrote my first feature for +VentureBeat VB this morning. It's a look at +Evernote and its mobile strategy. I also got a chance to talk to the company's VP of Mobile Jamie Hull. Coincidentally she's speaking at our #MobileBeat  event on Monday & Tuesday -- tickets still available: http://events.venturebeat.com/event/mobilebeat2015/

If you're a developer, you're going to want to pay attention to +Box 's Developer Edition platform and its new SDKs that will let you take the functionalities from Box and easily add it to your own app. Will this new offering be a boon to developers? Also, how does this affect the growth of enterprise apps that the new age worker really wants -- it's no longer about the stuffy conservative enterprise anymore.

Here's my thoughts from #BoxDev 2015.

Box debuted its new Developer Edition platform, which could transform the company away from a product and into a enterprise-wide platform.

Had an opportunity to play around with Priime recently and it's a pretty well done photo-editing app. Yeah, there are a lot of them, but what makes this interesting is that it features styles curated by professional photographers. Just one tap and you get close to the magic that they create with their own work.

Some of the last few photos that I've shared on Facebook and Instagram have had the #priime hashtag applied -- these were done in the app. I've tweaked a few of them to get close to what I was happy with. The app is worth checking out -- if you have an iOS device.
