One of my favorite writers, +glyn moody
; brings up a good point and it's worth the read. But there's another issue...even when a user becomes fully cognizant of how bad Windows can be, they still cling to using it. The "I have to use it for work" folks get a pass here. This rarely applies to them.
This is probably a completely politically incorrect statement, but I'm going to share it anyway because...uh, let's see...where did I put that reason.....
Oh yeah, Here it is. I remember now.
I don't care.
A good number of my clients still refuse to use Linux, even as a dual boot solution or when I have provided them a fully-functioning Windows system via Virtualbox. It dawned on me a while back that a lot of these people displayed hints of abused person syndrome.
The denial, the "hope they will change" reason to stay, even the fruitless intervention by friends.
In my experience, the pain threshold for these people is extremely high. So whether it was a good comparison or not, that's the way I've interpreted it for the past few years.
