Excellent insights.  Crucial questions as to how you approach transformation:

"They’re seeking answers to “what if” What if we did things differently? What if we saw customers for who they are and who they’re becoming, not who they were?"

Google releases Universal Analytics out of beta. Happy that remarketing and audience demographics now part of Universal analytics, no longer a need to use dc.js or other tracking codes.

Top problems identified as barriers to digital transformation:
1) the right people & skills leading digital strategy
2) old and broken processes
3) functional departments (IT, Marketing, etc) aka silos
4) lack of clear vision

More breakdown on the demographics of various social media channels. Social Media Marketers LinkedIn is going to be a powerful platform for B2B and luxury goods marketing. You need to stop thinking of it as solely a job search platform. It has become a powerful platform for content distribution.

My trend prediction for 2014 continues to be confirmed: Consolidation. Will next at bat be Salesforce looking to flesh out their marketing cloud with a content marketing system, or maybe more aptly called a content process system?
Summary: The marketing automation arms race continued as IBM snaps up Silverpop to contend with Oracle, Salesforce.com, Adobe — you name it.

Another reason the bolt-on strategy does not work is that it causes the customer experience break down. How many times does one of your customers have to sign-up across your web sites and apps? How many different username/passwords are they required to remember. A bolt-on strategy is really no strategy at all. It is a tactic employed to either buy-time or avoid the hard work of silo busting.

Done right authorship can be a win-win.  But first we have to get out of the brand-only mind set.

Story
Introduction
Developing an effective learning organization can be an overwhelming task. My job is to help you reach that goal by building the technological and social framework necessary to support the organic growth of a learning network within your organization. By integrating both commercial and open-source learning technologies with social networking tools, I will help you build a robust network that will support your current and future organizational development objectives.

With over 10 years experience at a large multi-national company, I have successfully led numerous projects in the areas of learning technologies deployment and eLearning design and development. I am highly motivated and have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. I have also had great success bringing my entrepreneurial spirit to projects that resulted in significant cost savings to my organization.

My currently interest is in the application of social media strategies to foster cultural change within organizations and as a way to improve the customer experience.
