Well. There you go.

The study itself is quite readable, if you have a few minutes out of your serfdom to spare.

Well, that's it.  The greatest music video that can ever exist, has now been made.  We'll have to come up with some other new art form to replace it, Lil Jon done finished this one out.

Ha! Had a very hyper friend post this on FB lamenting his inability to party this hard anymore. I told him I remember him like that - and I'm glad he's slowed down. :)

An advertising shot I think, but still historical and so badass.

I have never been a fan of FPS games.  Or, to be clear, I don't like game narratives that are just about people shooting each other in increasingly well-visualized ways, then respawning to do it all over and using their accumulating skill to punish newer players.

BUT.  Day Z is nevertheless fascinating to me, for a number of reasons.  Partly because, yay zombie apocalypse!  And partly because it is permadeath.  When you start on a server, you live as long as you can live, you collect what you can collect, and when you let your guard down, that's it for that character.  The stakes are high.

This creates some really unique scenarios.  Trust becomes a rare and precious oddity that emerges occasionally from a ruthless playground, and this spirit is captured very nicely in this excellent tumblr.

The doorway of an OFFICE BUILDING is full of his belongings: a blanket, some empty cups, a sign you can’t read.

>TAKE ALL

He has nothing more to TAKE. You don’t want to touch any of what’s left.

>GIVE DOLLAR

That wouldn’t help him. He needs a lot more than that.

You should keep an eye out for this one.  Leigh Alexander has a knack for infusing techie topics with poetic insight, and she's one of my favorite voices in the field.

Whoa.  Whoa there.  This is fascinating.

I kind of don't want to like this, because books are awesome, but I find myself reading along with the fastest one and enjoying the way it feels like words are being beamed into my brain.   Don't know if I'd enjoy keeping it up for hours at a time... but in short doses, this might make certain dense textbooks less tiresome?

I already read really fast. My challenge is to slow down and really savor what I'm reading. This makes me go "yikes!"
