i flash the boot loader once, and then flash the program 100 times until its right...

90 seconds isn't a long time, as opposed to dual booting the mac, learning linux and then saving 81 seconds every 3/4 months...

i guess to the usual arduinut this is interesting, but ultimately useless.

the fact that the spinning of the phone was completely synced to the phones frame rate makes this video phenomenal!

plus theres a hungry pig!

the entire point of the product is completely missed in this video.

yes, its a pi, in a laptop with built in screen and keyboard... so no fudging around with cables when using

but its beauty is the slide back lid and direct access to the pi and the connecting rails so everything sits nicely. you can take to a class, add some jumpers, a switch and an led and show how to code to make the led turn on with a switch... then close the lid and walk off.

shame, all they've described here is a shoddy looking early design with a £35 brain inside a £250 package.

I think this video more highlights the ineffectiveness of the police systems that you americans to suffer.
in the uk we have 2 (3 kinda...) numbers to phone 999 (or 112... its the same place, but can hop networks if your on a mobile) and 101. 101 is for very minor / information / reporting after the event, but everything else is 999, and you get to an operator almost instantly.
before you even half explain whats going on, you have your service required, number verified and the address / location, and then they start talking to you starting the process of if they need to send help immediately.
in the uk, if you'd have filmed on 1 phone and called on the other, by the end of the video the police would have stopped them.

fighting with the coding again!

2 x 1m ws2811, 32 leds per metre, and with the strips next to each other I've managed to force them into "sync", so when pixel 0 is lit, so is 33, 1&34, 2&35.

now i found the nscale8 command which allows me to fade to black, or better known as "make the leds look pretty" but when it gets halfway along the strip, it locks up the mc, to the point where i have to time plugging it in the usb as to get it into program mode.

is this a limitation of the deek-robot arduino pro mini clone, or a limitation of my knowledge?

You call show after you've made all the changes you want to an entire frame.  The initial code that you pasted looks like it was based on a simple loop of turning a light on and then off, going down the set of leds - so it was calling show after the change was made for that frame (e.g. turning a single led on).

That might not be a bad solution. At least 2801s are readily available to hand.
