We booked a Wow Suite at the W Hotel in Dallas at least three months in advance, because it was actually for our wedding night and the following day. When my husband checked us in early that morning, they told him that they had actually overbooked and so they were going to have to downgrade us. Instead of the Wow Suite, we got a Fantastic Suite, which is two steps down. The girl at the desk told us that they were basically the same room, just without a balcony. This is obviously not true, but what other choice did we have? We received the lower price of course, and the room was still very nice. But it was our wedding night! When else do you get to splurge on a big fancy room at the W? We booked that suite for a reason! I realized as soon as I got into the bathroom that the other thing it was missing was the big soaking tub, which I was actually kind of upset about. As well as the obvious square footage and furnishings. Anyway, overall it was a very underwhelming stay. The room was laid out and wired very strangely. The faux white snake/alligator skin curtains looked like hospital room dividers. And the room lacked a minifridge and coffee maker, which was solely to get you to order room service. However, the rest of the decor was very cool, and the Bliss products were lovely. I definitely wouldn't stay here again, but it was certainly an experience. I just wish we could have had the room we booked in the first place.
