I had an exclusive interview with two of the men who built GoDaddy's domain search: VP of Engineering Charles Beadnall and SVP of Domains, Mike McLaughlin. It's a fascinating take on what goes into building a search engine.

Even if writing isn’t your dream, you could use the idea of building a daily habit to become better at your craft, whether it’s drawing or just spending more time with your kids. #writing   #writingadvice

My latest post on #b2bmarketing  over at KoMarketing!
There are many companies with a B2B focus that don’t have an e-commerce presence. That doesn’t mean B2B marketers can’t learn and adapt tactics from those organizations that are, regardless of the intended audience. In fact, successful e-commerce sites may represent one of the best opportunities to learn from and consider when adapting strategies. Why? Because there are a range of …

I have always wanted a Wrangler, but didn't even test drive one because they aren't the most practical vehicles in terms on MPG. However, I decided that I was ready for a fun vehicle, and put the sense of practicality behind me. Greg and Celia set me up with Ed, who was great to work with. He took the time to understand what I was looking for in a vehicle, why I was interested in the Jeep, and even dissuaded me from higher trim levels because he knew that I wouldn't need it (e.g. the Rubicon is really for people that are doing a lot of off-road driving). The only 2 things that take off one star was that the Jeep wasn't ready on the day they said it would be (off one day) and then the car wasn't immaculately detailed (e.g. there are some dirt smudges on the white roof that would have been easy to remove by the detail team. Overall, every one was super friendly and not condescending at all. I've gone to other dealerships and been treated differently because I am a woman by myself, looking for a car. Salespeople have said things like, "Why isn't your husband here?" which is extremely unprofessional and just plain ignorant. Anyway, NO ONE at Olathe DCJ treated me like this at all, and I felt respected and understood throughout the entire process.

Went in for a second time about a month ago. Masseuse made me wait 15-20 minutes (I was on time for my booked appt) and then she answered the phone during my massage-- really. I won't be coming back. Previous review: I went here a few months ago and had a GREAT service. I had purchased a groupon and got a deep tissue massage. It was an amazing massage and I know I will go back, as a one hour service is very reasonable at $50. Most spas charge $80 for deep tissue or more.

Great tasting cupcakes, cakes, and desserts. I had my wedding cake made by Leighana, a head decorator here, and it was amazing. People still tell me over a year later how good that cake was. It was exactly what I wanted and I was very pleased. I have also used Three Women as a way to say thanks or for gifts-- I had them deliver 2 dozen snickerdoodle cookies to my husband for Valentine's Day and have also purchased baby cakes and cupcakes as gifts to friends and colleagues as a way to say thank you for something they had done. Everyone I've given desserts too have loved them and I've never heard any complaints.
