Another Mystery in the SERPs - The New Zealand Bookstore

This query and set of search results surprised me quite a bit, particularly since I'm performing the search from a US IP address, and a small, regional bookshop in New Zealand is outranking everyone: https://www.google.com/search?q=hard+to+find+books

Any guesses as to why they're ranking so well in the US results?

Good post on #podcasting
Discover the clear benefits of podcasting, and stop letting someone else speak directly into the ears of your audience. That voice should be yours.

Last week, Dan Fain, +eBay's VP of Search Technology, recorded a #MarketingNerds  podcast with me about their search technology and how it not only helps their users, but how it influences shopping + bidding behavior. #SEO   #Search   #ecommerce

Great recap! +Search Engine Journal

Recap of +Pierre Far Talk at +Search Engine Journal

1. User context and task
- Understand what users are doing during their journey
- 2g will still be present in 2015 -> speed is important
- Understand context by country -> from country to country users perform the same task differently
- Make the best out of Voice Search (young demographic) and Location
- Autofill/Autocomplete for forms -> 30% of mobile customers drop because of it
2. Multiple Touchpoints
- Consider every single touch point (web, email, phone , in-store ect.)
- Consider app vs mobile site
- Emails must be optimised for mobile - The majority of the emails is consumed on Mobile
3. Technology stack to serve it all
- Build an harmonic technology offer for your customers
4. Users's needs may change in the near future

Seems like that first bullet sums it all up. If you don't know what your audience needs, you'll be lost.

Went in for a second time about a month ago. Masseuse made me wait 15-20 minutes (I was on time for my booked appt) and then she answered the phone during my massage-- really. I won't be coming back. Previous review: I went here a few months ago and had a GREAT service. I had purchased a groupon and got a deep tissue massage. It was an amazing massage and I know I will go back, as a one hour service is very reasonable at $50. Most spas charge $80 for deep tissue or more.

Love this place! They are always so friendly and I got my glasses very quickly. Getting an appointment isn't too difficult. Dr. Chamberlain took the time to talk to me about my eyes and my specific needs (have allergies, use a computer a lot). So glad they are so close to my house!

Great tasting cupcakes, cakes, and desserts. I had my wedding cake made by Leighana, a head decorator here, and it was amazing. People still tell me over a year later how good that cake was. It was exactly what I wanted and I was very pleased. I have also used Three Women as a way to say thanks or for gifts-- I had them deliver 2 dozen snickerdoodle cookies to my husband for Valentine's Day and have also purchased baby cakes and cupcakes as gifts to friends and colleagues as a way to say thank you for something they had done. Everyone I've given desserts too have loved them and I've never heard any complaints.

I repeat. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! My dog came back with fleas and covered in dried poop when I picked him up from being boarded. His paws were also cracked and bleeding. I had to report them to the BBB in order to even get part of my money back. It was an awful experience. I don't know what they did to him there, but all I know is that I tell everyone I know never to go there.
