Just a bit of background about Barry. He and I met at General Dynamics. He asked me one day if he could sit on my motorcycle. He was trying to find a bike that he fit well on. Barry is not the tallest guy around and wanted to be able to sit down on the seat and have both feet flat on the ground. Well at, maybe, 5 foot 4 inches we doubted a bike like that existed. On my Yamaha 650 he could only reach the ground with the tip of one foot. I took up the challenge, we met on weekends, sometimes after work to try on bikes. I looked at every bike make and model I could. A month or so went by and I saw it. A single cylinder , 500cc, super low slung 1982 Honda Ascot. It fit perfect, and both feet flat on the ground at the same time.
Barry Matsumori, VP of Commercial Sales and Business Development at SpaceX. WTF!
Is there a chance? Dare I say I may possibly get a chance to do this kind of work again? I am excited to just get caught up with my buddy Barry.
Wish me luck.
