Just bought +Joanna Penn's new book, How to Make a Living With Your Writing and I've already breezed through most of it. If you're considering going the indie publishing route, I definitely recommend getting yourself a copy. Joanna's one of the gurus of being an authorpreneur and she has a lot to offer in terms of indie publishing and making a living from multiple streams of income based on years of experience. If you're interested, go grab yourself a copy!

How about instead of blaming technology for consuming our lives, we start considering our lack of self control?

I've been waiting all year, and even started my blog with this post in mind.  It's about time I conquered my arachnophobia and there's no place better to do that than at the Kajiki Kumo Gassen, or Kajiki Spider Fighting festival.  Check out the story of how I conquered my fear.

Do you have an insane fear of spiders or any other kind of phobia?  How far would you be willing to overcome it?

What if you could conquer your fear of spiders?  That's exactly what I plan to do tomorrow at the Kajiki Spider Fighting Festival.  You can bet I'll be scared stiff!

There should be a blog post titled "How to not fall off the face of the earth and actually keep in contact with people."  Yeah, I thought it was a bit long, too, but so many times, I find I'm the hermit too comfortable with my own aloneness and refusing to get out into the world, and not just form, but KEEP relationships with people.

Are you an introvert who struggles to get out into the social realm?  How do you keep in contact?

Do you want to gain more focus in your life?  With my scatter-brained activities every day, I sure do!  Check out this post by +Tor Refsland on how you can become more focused.  While you're at it, you might want to download his free ebook about how to be more productive.  I'm working through it right now with prioritizing my daily tasks.

Some food for thought about writing characters in fiction.  What kind of characters are present in your story?  Do they fit under stereotypes?  Are they dynamic or static?
