Yes, Yes and MORE Yes.
Thank you, +Sandra Parlow!  I couldn't have said it better.

I certainly haven't been around as much as I'd like in recent months.  Life and a new job (which I love like crazy) has taken up quite a bit of my time.  And I don't feel guilty about that.  Why?  A few reasons:

1)  Life is for LIVING.  Sometimes that actually requires us to get off our fannies and MOVE.  Unplug.

2)  G+ is my second home.  My second family.  And I know my family understands I love them, even when I can't tell them every day.  Just like my mom understands when I can't call her every day.

It's that simple.  Nothing has changed for me, as far as my love for G+ goes.  There are so many wonderful souls here.  So much talent, and inspiration.  I'm grateful for that.  And I also understand that just as I grow, change, evolve - so does (hopefully) the rest of the world - AND G+.  And I'm good with that.   I prefer to find the positives that changing and evolving bring, and not spend too much time dwelling on the negatives (hello, face wrinkles!).

And I don't think I've said this lately, but THANK you, G+.  Thank you, +Vic Gundotra.  Thank you +Brian Matiash.  Thank you, G+ team.  You are appreciated!

And yet I still can't say it better than +Sandra Parlow.  So have a read of her post, below.  It's well worth it.  :-)
Why I'm Here

It’s taken me a while to get around to this.. but a while back, +Gene Bowker  asked us to make a post explaining “Why Am I Here?”

There are many reasons why I’m here.. but the most important thing is that this is my “feel good” place.

The place where I can come and relax and enjoy great photos, great conversation, great friends.

I came to G+ knowing only the person who invited me, as it was back in the very early beta days.

I felt like a stranger walking into a big party all by myself, and really not expecting much.  I thought I’d look around the room, smile sheepishly at a few people and then disappear back into the night.

I stuck around.  Hung around the food table for a bit.  Moseyed over to the bar and ordered a drink.  Stood around and ate my pineapple slices.  Thought about leaving..  it didn't seem all that exciting.

Then the DJ put the music on and I figured “hell… I’m here.  I’m all dressed up.. I may as well go and dance a bit before I leave…”

And so I danced.  And I got a bit crazy and I bumped into a few people.  And they got  bit crazy and they bumped into a few people.  And so on, and so on, and so on.

Pretty soon we were all dancing together and having a great time!  We all danced with wild abandon and we laughed and we shared.  We shared our work and we shared ourselves…  we became….  a community .

The sharing was immense..  everyone was anxious to tell their story and meet new people and learn new things!  The amount of learning and sharing going on was wonderfully crazy!!

The party has died down a bit now.  People have left the dance floor and congregated around their separate tables now.  We roam back and forth from one table to the next still though, and we yell out to each other across the room.  Some of us are passed out in the dark corners.  Having had just a little bit too much fun, and needing some time to recoup.  Some people snuck out, feeling as though the party wasn’t to their liking, maybe they had to go home to their families, or maybe they just needed a breath of fresh air.

At any rate, the party of Google+ imitates real life.   People come and go…  they hang around for a while and then they are gone for a bit.  Hopefully they’ll resurface again.

One thing that hasn’t changed though, for me, is the reason I’m here.

I’m still dancing to the music.  It still feels good to come here.  It’s my “home away from home” and I like it that way.  I like that I can come and see some great art, put my feet up, discuss serious issues, or silly things like faeire boogers and unicorn poo.  I like that I can call people here “REAL” friends, and that they’d do the same of me.

This place still holds magic for me.

The one thing that I am NOT here for is politics.  Anger.  Jealousy.  Bitterness.  DRAMA.

Lately, I have seen quite a few conversations based around “why are people leaving here?”

Everyone wants to bring up the things that Google is doing wrong.  Things don’t work right, communities suck the life out, it’s the SUL, it’s the notifications, etc, etc, etc.

Yes, all things we’ve heard before.  Things we all like to point to and talk about.

But what if there’s something else?  Maybe we need to look a little deeper.  Explore every angle...

What if it’s…  us  ???

What if we are driving each other away with our bitterness, jealousy, back biting, politics and DRAMA??

What if the very thing that we are doing is the very thing that is biting us in the ass?!  What if we are crashing our own party, and not even giving our own actions any thought?!!  What if it’s US who are chasing people away?  Making them angry.  Making them think that their virtual valhalla is invaded by people who make it more like hell?  Why would they stay?

If we want to see one of the things that is killing this place, we’d better start looking inside ourselves a little closer, and decide if we want to be part of the problem or part of the solution.

I for one, want no part of this problem.  If someone wants to drag me down, they can take their party games to someone else’s party, ‘cause I ain’t playing them.  I’m not  a game player. I won’t get caught up in internet DRAMA. It’s a waste of my time and energy.  My energy is better spent on other things.   I don’t have time to worry about “you’re friends with that person, so you can’t be friends with me” and all that other petty crap.   Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

If we were to all take a step back and stop what ever destructive behaviour we put on ourselves and on others, we would all be part of a much happier community.

And me?  I’m just here for the dancing.  So let’s dance.  It’s much more fun.

Yep... I have a Canon 5D Mark III and I love it... but I'm considering to get also a smaller camera for my casual shooting and short trips...

Thinking... going for a x100s or maybe for a x-t1 to get the interchangeable lens?

Probably, having the 5DmkIII, the x100s would be better for what I need...

What's your thoughts, +Kelli Seeger Kim? :)

Basic Information
I've been known to laugh at highly inappropriate moments.
About Me?
  • The aging process is equal parts heartless and hilarious - and I'm sort of diggin' it.
  • I still laugh at knock knock jokes.
  • I bite my nails.
  • I think Wes Anderson flicks are absolute genius.
  • I'm okay with awkward silences.
  • I want to have a woodshop someday. Compound miter saw, router - I've no idea what they are, but I must have them!

And Oh Yeah.
I love photography. I LOVE photography! For me, it's all about the emotional ride.  When an image makes me gasp - in awe, with joy, or with punch-me-in-the-gut sorrow, there's just nothin' like it.

Bragging rights
I have two boys, and a wicked crush on my hubs.
