I thought this was an interesting read. If robots make and distribute most things, what will the rest of us do and what will we be paid?

I'm running KVM/Libvirt in my basement lab and I can never remember which DHCP addresses are assigned to which virtual host, so I added the following alias to my .bashrc file for root:

alias virtips="cat /var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/*.leases | awk '{print \$4, \$3}'"

Which gives me this:

root@DC5750:~# virtips
centos6-3 192.168.122.82
centos6-2 192.168.122.54
centos6-1 192.168.122.171

How many congressmen live next to existing pipelines?
While Congress pushes for Keystone XL approval, existing pipelines are failing with increasing frequency

The Isle of Man TT is insane and this guy owned it. Definitely a sports superstar.
It certainly wouldn't happen in the United States, where a football, basketball or baseball star would head the list, but in Northern Ireland motorcycle racers are revered, particularly the late Joey Dunlop. In a poll conducted by one of its largest newspapers, the Belfast Telegraph, ...

I wonder if people were reading opinion pieces like this prior to World War 2?

I think this article may be right. That the only way Greece can recover is to abandon the Euro and return to its own currency.

Just updated the Windows 10 Preview on my little Acer tablet and its a big improvement. More responsive, the keyboard consistently comes up when needed (which it wasn't doing) and the preview Office apps (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are pretty usable.

I find the number of "name something the government regulates that hasn't gone to hell" comments interesting. The FCC auctions off spectrum so that there aren't 10 companies trying to use the same wireless spectrum. Seems to have worked reasonably well. The phone company was regulated so that they WOULD provide service to crappy little places where they wouldn't  make any money. Government regulation is extremely  helpful in many situations. It may not be perfect, but it beats the crap out of letting companies do whatever they want.
It's official, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler wants to reclassify internet service providers as utility providers under the FCC's Title II authority. The move aims to preserve the principles of net neutrality in law, barring ISPs from blocking, throttling, or prioritizing traffic. Said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler: "I am submitting to my colleagues the...

Most of the Woot deals lately have been pretty crappy, but this is a pretty decent deal. If you need a decent, inexpensive laptop, this should pull that off nicely for $230.

I haven't played around with Samba for years, so I was poking around on the web site and read this. However, just skip to the very bottom and read the two quotes. They are hilarious. Maybe not as true as they were in the late 90s, but still funny.

I'm reusing an OLD laptop with Lubuntu and I kept having hard drive issues. This boot CD is awesome. It can load DOS and use tools like the old Maxtor hard drive utilities. Plus, its free (although donations are accepted).
Overview. Current release: 5.3.3. Ultimate Boot CD is completely free for the download, or could be obtained for a small fee. If you had somehow paid a ridiculous amount of money for it, you have most likely been fleeced. The least you could do is to make as many copies of the offical UBCD and ...
