I liked hearing about the way T-shirts are made. I'd like to see a video about how you make your different videos. A behind-the-scenes look at their creation would be informative and entertaining. Oh, and you're right about the mirror. They always did capture your attention. Must've gotten that from your dad. ;)

This was fun! I love the opening and the way the screen rolls as if it's really an old style arcade game.

Most of my main characters are not close to their mothers but are close to their fathers, or they have a father who has a strong impact on them. The characters are also becoming aware of some thing that they knew before, but had forgotten, and need to remember it in order to move forward. Like an ability that became innate and has been forgotten because it hasn't been used, and now they have to dust if off and use it again. Those things are prevalent in my own life. When I was first beginning to write I picked up the theme "Romance Lives Forever" and put it on everything (even my logo) as a label. Why? Because my parents, though they remained married, didn't have a romance. My mother told me that romance always dies. I was determined not to buy that. And I haven't. I'm blessed that my husband tells me he loves me every day, and is one of the most romantic people I know. So sometimes, we have our theme borne from pain -- and other times from a need to find a strength inside -- something we miss having. Great post.
Mention theme and some writers will groan. There’re so many, aren’t there? There’s theme, then there’s theme, and then there’s... well, theme. We have the story theme, author theme, and tropes—which some writers/readers call ...

I use a program called SmartEdit. The SmartEditLite version is free. It checks a bazillion things and includes word counts for duplicates. For example, do you consistently overuse a particular word? You might not notice it, but when you click the link in the app for word counts by phrase or by word, you will. How many times does your character bite her lips? You'll see that here. Also dialog tags such as she laughed, she cried, she yelled, she whispered, and the ubiquitous she said. This app is one of my favorite editing tools.

Good call on SmartEdit, Kayelle. There's also the Hemingway app. I haven't used it myself, but it's supposed to help you weed out overused words, cliches, extraneous description, etc.

I was out of town at a convention this weekend and saw this link on Twitter. I got a glimpse of the opening and it made my day. This morning, I got to watch the entire video, and laughed along with you at the "naked story" -- I'd never heard that one before. You turn a bright red, did you know that? LOL Thank you, Jamin. I am proud to be your mom, and have always supported you 100%. You are one of the most creative people I know.

Something to keep in mind when tweeting is not to put the person's @name first. Why? If you put it first, then only they and their followers will see it. Put a period in front of the "@" or put the mention later in the tweet, and it will show up for everyone.
