Super interesting look at the marketing campaign for The Hunger Games. To me it stands out as a film that has taken great to care to grow organically (via word of mouth and seeding small amounts of information online) rather than the typical media blitz you see from other movies. I've been hearing more about it from friends than from TV ads.

Also interesting how they managed to deal with the tricky subject matter of kids murdering each other :)
A small crew with a tiny marketing budget made gradual use of social media to build interest in a movie with tricky subject matter.

The books are really riveting, and I was introduced to the first one by my 11-year-old daughter. Mixed feelings about wanting to see the movie, knowing the plot and the macabre actions.
