Response from the owner - 2 weeks ago
Hi Janae, normally, I would let my office manager respond to these reviews, but since I do feel like this assessment is unfair and because I am the one that had a chance to see you, it's only right that I be the one to respond to you. Because of violations of patient confidentiality, I am unable to publicly display any specifics of the examination and how long it had been since you had last seen a dentist. Yes, I did mention that things looked good…relative to how long it had been since your last cleaning. Normally, I would expect more severe treatment, such as root canals or extractions…so clearly, I was applauding your home care. The price that you were quoted, I specifically mentioned to you to not do half of it (the top part of the treatment plan presented to you which I can't specifically mention) so that you could save money. Im not sure where you are getting a $3,000 quote…as the work I recommended as more of a priority (Bottom half of the treatment plan presented to you) is less than half of that amount. And not one time did I ever give any pressure for those procedures to be done. The way I have always practiced, and will always practice, has ALWAYS been to take pictures of any issues I see, educate my patients so they can understand the situation, and give them full freedom to do as they choose. My role as a dentist is not to get you to do the treatment I recommend for you, but rather, to give you as much information as possible so that you can make the best decision for yourself. As long as our patients are not given any pressure to move forward with treatment and they are able to act on their own desires, then I am fully content. The day I personally apply any pressure on my patients is the day that I should retire from the field of dentistry. Therefore, stealing your money or trying to overcharge you is just not an accurate depiction of what took place when you visited us. By the way, our non-insurance fees are lower than the average fees in the Katy area. As far as your best friend's brother is concerned, I would be happy to share with him the evidence that we have (our state of the art technology shows things that the naked eye has a hard time seeing). I have no problems taking time out of my schedule to discuss your case with him…and hopefully he would be able to take care of it at no charge. Ultimately, we want what is best for you, so I have zero issues doing this for you. In conclusion, Im sorry you feel the way you do, as we never told you anything that we are not 100% confident in…ultimately, if you are content with what you were told during your 2nd opinion, then that is completely fine with us. We wish you the best moving forward and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to see you in the first place!
