Post-aurora at Google, my coworkers hated OTP. Wish they could see what it takes to be an opinionated woman online.

I absolutely agree, but it's not a widely supported infrastructure. I wish there was a twofactorauth.org for setting up keys.

The community is really coming together for the Dojo, only $58K to go!

Just backed +Hacker Dojo's Kickstarter campaign — and you should too, if you participate in coworking, open source projects, or other local community-driven initiatives!

They're raising money to fund various renovations to their space to meet new requirements from the City of Mountain View. Of the $250K that they hope to raise, they've pulled in $184,781.28 — good progress, but not enough!

Learn more about the space (and the deep community benefits the space has provided) and how to donate here:

Sharing on behalf of some friends (Rachel, and +Katy Levinson). It's worth noting that it sucks that Hacker Dojo is on the line for bringing the bathrooms and rest of the space into ADA compliance rather than the landlord, given it's been twenty fscking years since the ADA passed into law, but I think it's quite fair that the law should apply to the space :/.
Mountain View's Hacker Dojo needs community assistance. Mountain View's Hacker Dojo needs some love and attention to pull through a difficult situation. They recently got in trouble with city ...

It's not "somebody" -- I've isolated this as automated and +Winona Nash is looking in to it. I think it may be happening because a bunch of Newt Gingrich supporters collaborated to mark all my comments about his tax plan as inappropriate a couple weeks ago, causing me to get suspended and lose access to Gmail/Docs/Groups/+/Reader/etc. for six hours. It doesn't seem to have helped Gingrich at the polls, though. Thanks for vizibilizing me, and I hope the landlord lets you do a tank and it saves you a couple hundred grand.

Please join me in supporting school choice in public schools as a replacement for standardized-exam evaluations

https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/enable-school-choice-public-schools/0p5R3Nkv
Currently educational quality is based on the school students are forced to attend, which relates directly to where their parents live, which relates (indirectly) to the parents income. Permitting sc...

There is no "alternative idea" to "make them listen". They're not going to listen, beyond whatever crumbs and lip service they are willing to give out, solely for PR purposes.

Look at their actions. Look at what they did with the medical marijuana petition -- it had a SHIT TON of people behind it... and still they repurposed it into toilet paper.

Those people are not there to serve you. They exist and vye for power to farm you, to profit from you, and to punish you if you disobey them. That's what they do. That's why they live like kings and have all sorts of privileges, while you and I don't.

Reality sucks sometimes, but one is ALWAYS better off accepting it. Only when one acknowledges that one's compass is broken, can one start walking in the right direction.

It's not my fault. It's not your fault. The reality is, if you want great education for your kids, enroll them in a private school like a Montessori school, or unschool / homeschool them. Public school is where brains go to die of boredom and numbness. This is by design (look at John Taylor Gatto's research on the matter -- the man is a multi-condecorated ex-public school teacher).

Internet: I could use a hand getting this out there.

The defcon talk is finally edited up with slides into a proper presentation with good sound quality and annotations to compensate for the fact that you can't see the laser pointer. Huge thanks to +Thomas Raleigh +Jenny Tsai +Janice Collins +Kerry Scharfglass +Jay Liew +Chris Meyer +Melody Lu +Daniel Tse +Arthur Chan +Bob Carragher +Kaelin Colclasure +Megan Brigham +Mathias Agopian +Roman Kofman +doris yi +James Salsman +Zeke Hana +Bala Ramamurthy +Nilo Sarraf +Keilin Bickar +Patrick Crownover +Tim Watts +Andrew Pilloud and everybody else who provided feedback/help/access/promotion on the first version. I'd like to eventually make a legitimate (and possibly more sober) educational lecture series on robots.

Um, thanks! It's a real work in progress, but I am at least beginning to become comfortable with the drawing tools. Suggestions welcome!

Pretty critical part of a WPI undergrad education. Hard liquor is kinda a ripoff by the handle, but you can't beat the convenience.

While the cab driver was courteous and wonderful, even after telling the dispatcher this was a situation of some urgency the cab took more than 25 minutes to get to a location within Mountain View. I would have been better off jogging to the train station and grabbing one of the random cabs there.

This place is wonderful, a real surprise gem. Blows competition at its price range out of the water. They even have wifi.

World class education that provided more opportunities than I can name. The teachers are amazing, but sadly the administration works hard daily to undo all of their excellent work.
