Menu
Katuah Market is a small store driven by big ideals, providing quality and a personal touch only found in locally owned establishments. Our concept combines offering the best local, natural, and organic foods with the convenience and service of a corner grocery store.

At our heart, we love food. We believe in real food grown without artificial means and made without chemical additives.   We obsessively search for new innovative products but still geek out over our old favorites.  We're a springboard for local folk ready to bring their new hot sauce, vegan brownie or hand crafted soap to retail because we believe in a strong local food economy.

Fresh and prepared foods are central at Katuah, with our breakfast, lunch and dinner options and our 120-seat indoor/ outdoor café. We run an all-scratch kitchen like you would expect from a neighborhood bistro.  In addition to ready-to-eat offerings, Katuah has a butcher shop, produce section and full grocery and wellness offerings, stocking only foods scrutinized and selected with the highest integrity in mind.  Katuah Market is a true labor of love for the community of people bringing Katuah Market to fruition. Katuah Market is truly “Local By Nature™."

Prices are waay too high. Food bar cost me eight bucks for beans and undercooked quinoa. The variety is generic. Proof is never is there much food eaten from the food bar. It must go to the employees. I hope it doesn't go into the trash. If you order coffee and want some to go, you have to repay for the coffee. If you get coffee in a paper cup and want a refill it is a dollar. Neither Earth Fare nor Hopey do this. The coffee bar would be halfway decent if it were not for the outrageous prices of pastry (Hopey is much better!) and the fact that the front door blows cold air into it and the main food bar area. This is ridiculous. I paid three dollars for a paper thin piece of pizza( Earth Fare pizza is much bigger and thicker!). I am so done with this place. Hopey and Co. and Earth Fare are better than this. The Katuah franchise are marketing their location is all.. The music is okay. I do not have the income to eat here or buy its produce. Hopey is the cutting edge to all of this. I dare the Hopey on Sweeten Creek to open a coffee shop and deli like they have in Swannanoa. Katuah would fold.

I love Katuah Market's scratch-made food on the hot bar and how convenient it is to A-B Tech! There are so many healthy options to choose from and they do an awesome job of catering to various diets (vegetarian, vegan, diabetics, etc.). I'm so happy you're on this side of town!! Love and support local!!

Katuah is exceptional. They support local farmers and are getting very close to paying their employees a living wage. I noticed a bad experience reported at the deli here - free chips are always included and I have found the service to be consistently good. I would recommend that the dissatisfied customer give Katuah one more try. We do not live in a perfect world, and perchance your bad experience was at a time when "things" were not at their usual quality.

I love the concept and people of Katuah Market. A place where I can get a quick tasty meal (made from scratch) off of the food bar, buy local products and help support other local businesses in my community, and the creativity of the staff all make Katuah Market a desirable destination for me. I work at Katuah Market and love to see how personable and caring staff, shoppers, and vendors are towards one another. I hear a lot of really good compliments about our store and one other day, "This place feels like home," represents how welcoming it feels to shop at Katuah Market on a regular basis.

When I walk into Katuah I feel happy. I love the look, feel, smell, atmosphere of this place--in addition to the great products & services & focus-on-local that others have mentioned. The employees always seem so happy too--and that says a great deal about this place and its management/ownership. I want everyone to know about Katuah.

As a former produce manager, I have to say that I particularly love the fact that I can buy tailgate market quality produce from Katuah when I've not been able to hit my favorite markets. Some of this luscious local produce even comes from local farmers I used to purchase from myself in the '90's! I also appreciate Katuah's truth in advertising, a rare commodity these days. And the staff! So nice to see so many truly happy people, who spill that over into their customer service. Thanks, Katuah!

This is a true locally-supported grocery store. The shelves are stocked with products from WNC and the employees are so kind and helpful. The food bar is stocked with meals that are made from ingredients in the store, completely on-site and there are options for all diets. I'm a gluten-free vegan and I've tried several delicious options from the cafe and bar. I can't say enough good things about Katuah Market!

I waited at the meat counter. I called for service. I waived my arms. I would have gestured to passing employees, if there were any.
