Today Tom and I went to see Hidden Figures, which was amazing. But he shocked me when we were having a cup of coffee and he told me this was the first time we had seen a movie together, just the two of us. All of a sudden my mind started to race. How could this be? Time is moving way too fast. Can I get a do-over?

One of the hardest choices Joe and I ever had to make was to put Lizzy on medication. Who would have thought it would be a Barbie doll that made me feel better about our decision.

After weeks of sick kids and a really bad case of mom burnout I was ready for something drastic, a family outing. Usually when I’m in such a mood, I would rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp object than go anywhere with all three of my kids and my husband. But I was so desperate to get out of my funk I was willing to try anything.

Each time I go downstairs to our playroom I see it, the cradle my father made for me when my first child was born 18 years ago. It serves as a reminder to me that anything is possible.

Lizzy is days away from her 15th birthday. Call me crazy, but because of her significant special needs I didn't expect to deal with the same teenage attitude that I had to deal with her brother three years ago. I can be so dumb!

Words have always come easy to me. My parents say I was a very early talker who spoke in full sentences at 18 months. But it wasn't till I became a mother that I really fully found my voice.

Well the presents have been opened and we are now full on Christmas cheer. Now we can start making our New Years resolutions. Unless you are a mom, than you might want to do like me and take the "Mom Exemption."
