After 25 years together, almost 23 married, our idea of romance has changed a bit. That's not to say it's any less meaningful or special, just different. As always, thank you so much for supporting me and my crazed dishwasher!
Once upon a time love meant roses and romance. Well after 3 kids and 23 years of marriage things have changed a bit.

Almost 26 years ago I went on a blind date that changed the whole direction of my life. As always thank you so much for your ongoing support of me and the crazed appliance.
Some events occur and we know instantly our lives have been changed forever. Other times something will happen, and we don’t recognize until weeks or months later that the course of our lives has been completely altered.

At one of my darkest periods I prayed and a got an answer. A bird flew in my window. I'm not kidding! As always thank you so much for your ongoing support of me and my very possessed dishwasher.
The time I got a sign from above in the way of a bird flying in my window. I'm not kidding.

I love my daughter but because of her special needs it can be challenging to feel very connected sometimes. Thankfully Lizzy is a princess that was born to a princess wanna-be. As always thank you so much for your constant support of me and my crazy dishwasher!
I’m a girly girl that was born to a mother and a family that never really appreciated nor indulged my passion for all things pink, sparkly, and shiny. Then I became the mom of a princess.

What do you do when the one thing your kids wants for Christmas is sold out? This is something I had to deal with this week. Come on over to the Dishwasher to find out how I handled it! As always thank you so much for constant support!!
What happens when "Santa" makes a mistake and your child isn't going to get what they want for Christmas?

When we bought our dishwasher five years ago I never expected it to be possessed and I really never, ever, expected it to teach me some lessons about life as a mom to three and wife to one!

Ever since my son turned 17 I have been feeling as if there is a constant clock ticking down how long I have left with him. For 2106 I'm making a promise to myself to change the lens I view his last years in high school so I can enjoy this time for the beginning it is. Not the end I fear.
By changing the lens that I view my sons last years in high school, I hope to not only help him grow, I also hope that I can enjoy the here and now. Not the end I fear.

My family went to see the new Star Wars movie and while there I learned how to trust my own force when it comes to parenting my youngest son. As always thank you so much for your constant support. Happy New Year!!

Each year when I break out the ornaments I also break out the memories of Christmases past and make new memories for the future. As always thank you so much for your constant support. Wishing you all a very merry holiday.
If I was a nice mommy, I wouldn’t think twice about having my kids put the ornaments on the tree wherever and however they wanted to.

This year I have finally learned the truth, there really is such a thing as Santa! As always, thank you so much for your constant support of me and the crazy dishwasher.
It took having my own kids to realize the truth, there really is such a thing as Santa.

Introduction

I am a mom to three, wife to one and the owner of a possessed appliance who still finds it hard to believe that the woman who didn’t even have an email address till the fall of 2010, is now a full fledged blogger, social media addict and published author. This all came about after years of doctors, teachers and friends encouraging me to write about our life with three children who have a variety of learning differences, including our daughter who has extensive special needs. The Dishwasher has been running here since January of 2011. In the Spring of 2012, I co-founded the online magazine Bonbon Break and then happily returned to my beloved Dishwasher full time in July of 2013. My work has been featured in BlogHer and Mamapedia among other publications. I am also honored to have essays in the anthologies, Sunshine After the Storm and The HerStories Project. Have a question? Please feel free to contact me at, kathyradigan@hotmail.com, I look forward to hearing from you!
