Let's Make It French
Yesterday, I introduced you to my 'new' table that I placed in the foyer.  One day later it has been moved over some, and the top has been made to look more French. Before: Not bad, but I decided to move it from the area in front of the door and slid it to ...

Yesterday's Good Will Finds
I was browsing through Good Will yesterday (Sr. Discount Day) when this lovely table was brought onto the floor.  I looked at it at $24.95 and knew I wanted it, but in my "new" situation, I'm trying to be more careful with my spending.  I walked around a co...

The 'table' in the entry is actually the hall tree. The bottom is an open area, and has indentations, where I suppose you would stand an umbrella. I love that piece so much and only gave $89 for it at a consignment shop. The price started out at around $400, and I patiently watched it until it came down, then my daughter and I went and brought it home. I'm going to start taking things to the same shop as I purge through items in my house. I already have a bin full of items. They will pay you on the 10th of each month or you can shop against your credit. It's always been one of my favorite places to shop. They have a huge variety of items, and I have probably 30 name brand purses the 'ex' bought me that are going there to sell. He bought purses for me every Christmas and they were so big and heavy that by the time you got your items in, you needed heavy machinery to carry it for you. Now, OUT they go!!

I now own my entire master closet. When I get it like I want it, I'll share it. It has 2 separate rooms, and I'm putting my winter things in one side and spring/summer in the other side. I saw my attorney this week. She's known here as the "bulldog"! I hope she earns all the $$$ I gave to retain her. If she does, I should be fine.

Talk to you soon!!
Kathy, I can't believe you nabbed that quilted wall hanging for only 6-ish dolla! It is a beauty! Here are some other things I am loving: your turquoise bedstead in your room, the peacock and especially the frame around it. What a novel way to hang them both. Gives me an idea for something I want to hang. Then there's that little greyish table in your entry, I believe. It's so cute but does it have a hole cut in the bottom shelf or am I seeing it wrong? If there is, what would that be for?

Lastly, (I think!) there's your lovely mantle with the beautiful lady statue. Does she represent anyone?
And the vintage purses look sweet hanging on the dresser. I have a collection--small one--of vintage purses, too, but I haven't found a good place to display them yet. I used to hang them on a couple dresser knobs but then I got new dressers that have drawer pulls instead of knobs. I need to figure out a place for some cool-looking hooks.

I'm so glad you got out and about visiting your grandson and his wife and have treated yourself to a comfy bed just for you and some finds at GW. It's good to take care of body and soul, especially when times are challenging.

I'm little by little taking down my Christmas decor. I love my little twinkling tree so much, though, I'm finding it hard to pack it away. It's the little tree I began decorating with all new ornaments my first Christmas as a divorcee. I just couldn't bear to get out all the family ornaments we had collected over twenty-five years of marriage. And I'm so glad I did. I've just treasured "my own tree" so much over the years. Funny the things that give us comfort in times of stress.

I didn't mean to write a book! Guess I better say tah-tah for this time!

Winter Decor
I've been busy lately, and my blogging has suffered.  I've had lots of paperwork to go through, and we made a trip to see my grandson and his wife.  We had such a wonderful time, lots of good food and time with family.  There's nothing like it. I awoke arou...

Life Goes On
I went to bed before 9 last night with the intention of watching the latest episodes of "A Place to Call Home"  (Acorn TV).  Maybe 15 minutes into it, I was falling asleep, so I turned off the tv and allowed my tired body to rest.  Now I'm awake at 2 AM, so...

The Master of My Own Suite
Had anyone told me less than a week ago that I would be getting divorced, I would have declared them a liar, yet that is what is going on in my life at the present time.  No warning, no reason, blindsided totally.  A few things now that I look back were kin...
