A very simple and abstract stock art image inspired this vanishing point tutorial. http://artprojectsforkids.org/draw-a-vanishing-point-road/

So I have a pretty cool announcement to make, I've been moonlighting to my moonlighting job, and have written my first book! Last summer Quarry Books contacted me and asked if I would be interested in creating a Sharpie art book for kids, as they had just done well with one for adults. I was thrilled, to say the least. Browsing bookstores for inspiration has always been the ultimate treat for me. To see something of mine on the shelf is literally going to be a dream come true.
This "Sharpie Art Workshop for Kids" book will be printing this summer and then released in mid November. I am so proud of all my new projects, as well as what eight talented bloggers contributors added as well. They are: Gail Bartel, Mary Bosley, Phyllis Brown, Nic Hahn, Laura Lohmann, Zach Stoller, Cheryl Trowbridge, and Ana Dziengel. Thank you ladies and gent for all your beautiful input.
Stay tuned as I just might give readers a peek at some of the projects over the next coming months. It’s going to be too hard to wait until November!

Here's my Throw Back Thursday post, a template for a spiral snake. An oldie but goodie, if you ask me. http://artprojectsforkids.org/spiral-snake-pattern/

I've decided this is pretty much the perfect project to teach kinders how to mix the color green. http://artprojectsforkids.org/green-monsters/

I must admit, this isn't fair, sharing a project via a ridiculously talented student, but here goes. Fourth graders in my school are studying the Gold Rush, so they made little miner people with Model Magic wrapped around one of those round clothes pins today. I sprayed them with Modge Podge when done so they wouldn't get dry and cracked. Just FYI, Aiden mixed all his colors so they lost that bright glow that Model Magic has right out of the package. And he had this guy done in about 30 minutes. Crazy.

It’s that time of year, when many CA 4th graders start their mission projects. My ebook with line art of all 21 missions really helps them make some amazing drawings. http://artprojectsforkids.org/california-mission-drawings-2/
