dune. When I look back on my childhood it falls somewhere between RObert McCloskey's “One Morning in Maine” and “Blueberries For Sal”. I know that it isn't quite true (I didn't grow up on the water, but I did grow up slightly wild in a large blueberry field). So this past week when I went home ...

New post! Things I love!
IMG_20130516_081246. I periodically don't cook or photograph for whatever reason – I'm lazy, the food isn't attractive, the recipe is just not INTERESTING enough. The usual. This is good though, it makes me think outside of the box in terms of content. This lack of food to post is a great ...

Join us for Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts' 3rd Annual Local Craft Brewfest on the HarborPark, where the City meets the sea at the location of the John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse located on the Boston waterfront in Fort Point, Boston. Come learn, explore, socialize, and network with craft brewers, artisan brews, and local food producers. While celebrating local brews, you can savor live music by local musicians at this lovefest and enjoy one of Boston's most best harbor views. The Brewfest is held Friday night from 6pm-9:30pm.

The Brewfest is a prelude to the 3rd Annual Boston Local Food Festival, which will take place 2 days laters on Sunday at the Rose Kennedy Greenway, The Local Craft Brewfest will showcase local craft brewers and highlight, celebrate, and promote - brews, wines, distilleries, and artisan craft beverages made locally. The festival will take place in-doors and outdoors on the Boston Harbor. More than 50 brews and local food vendors will be featured. This event will be a great opportunity to meet brewers, vintners, and local eateries that are as passionate about local food as you are!

This is a 21+ event and all attendees must have a valid ID to enter the courthouse premises (no exceptions).

Regular Admission: Access to our brew tent and small bites from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

VIP Admission: This will give you access to the distilleries and wineries that we are featuring as well as delicious nibbles.  VIP ticket holders are granted access to the event half an hour before regular ticket holders at 6:00-9:30 p.m. These are limited tickets, so sign up early.

Want to learn a little bit more about the event?  Check out these fantastic recaps from our other brew events by area bloggers!

The Somerville Beat "The T-shirts said it all: Eat local. Drink local. Be local. Local was the word of the night at the Hyper-Local Craft Brew Tasting on Saturday [June 16, 2012] at the Armory on Highland Ave."

Sweetly Serendipity "This festival was tons of fun, and so yummy – the best kind of festival!"

Wine Dine with Us "The event [...] showcased thirty local breweries, wineries and food vendors. The event was a blast!"

Ampersand & Modern Vintage "This tasting was truly one of the more memorable in the area mixing established microbreweries like Cambridge Brewing Company, Sam Adams, and Narragansett, up-and-comers like Somerville’s own Slumbrew, and the “so happy we’ve just been introduced” to breweries like Nightshift Brewing.

I adore Armando's. Working around the corner from them for the better part of a year has seen me with an unpacked lunch a few too many times and Armando's has saved me each time. With budget friendly and delicious slices Armando's makes a great pizza. You can also buy dough balls from them to make your own pizza at home, which is awesome! Cash Only! Make sure you're prepared.

Sarah's is great for a little bit of everything - get your groceries, craft beer, wine, and breakfast all in the same place. The guys behind the counter make delicious food, and the coffee cake muffin they carry is BEYOND delicious.

I loved everything about my meals here. From cocktails to small plates Myers and Chang nailed it - get the dumplings, they are some of the best in the city. Also the hot and sour soup WILL CURE (or fend off) ANYTHING. It;s magnificent.

Maker sure to stop by Local Root when you're in Observatory Hill for all of your kitchen needs. LR offers knife sharpening (for $10/knife and with a 48hr turnaround!) and SodaStream exchanges which is awesome. With a full range of cookware/bakeware around to help you become a better cook.baker I love it here. Bias: I'm the manager!

The food was solid and for keeping it healthy (they don't use MSG and try to only cook with healthy, natural fats) it really blew me away. I judge most places by their scallion pancakes and hot and sour soup. Both of these dishes at wonder cafe were solid options and would definitely work as a regular chinese takeout option. My FIL also ordered a wonderful eggplant dish that I would continue to eat pretty much ALL THE TIME.

Cute infant-toddler clothes and a fairly broad selection. You can usually find a handful of out of season items as well. Make sure to check out the clearance section for marked down melissa and doug merchandise.
