Maricopa County NAACP Health committee invites you to attend “Connecting to Care” Health Fair on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 10:00am- 1:00pm at Eastlake Park Community Center, 1549 E Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Attendees of the health fair will benefit from free or low-cost early detection and preventative health screenings and educational opportunities. Connecting to Care is designed 1) to encourage African Americans and other underserved populations to seek preventive care services regularly to avoid or manage chronic disease, 2) obtain a medical home for their primary care needs, and 3) to adopt healthier eating and physical activity habits. The focus of the program is on prevention, both through lifestyle changes and health-seeking behaviors.
Some of the exciting opportunities we are looking to provide to the community will include the following:

Smoking cessation programs
Healthy cooking demos or recipes
Other activities and opportunities:
Nutrition and exercise quiz show
Basic yoga demonstration
